I haven't seen any indicators yet but not too far in. Not read the Nona series in a while though, sure there will be something that points the way.

I'll get a good bit of time tomorrow to read so will post more thoughts after.

Read the Girl and the Mountain tonight.

Great book, but my wifey bust out laughing at my response to the ending

"No, you bastard, you can't end it like that"

The only possible recourse is that the next book is due out this coming week.

God damnit that last paragraph.

I still haven't had the chance to read much more, life has gone crazy busy this last week...

Hey Mark, if you read this... Will any of the special editions be released in the UK at all? I went to buy the 10 year anniversary Prince of Fools but postage is still at $70, I didn't mind paying that for RQW special edition but don't think I can justify paying that again for delivery only. Sucks for fans outside of the US.

Anderida Books are looking into bringing some across and reselling, but the postage is going to be expensive whatever way you cut it. Postage between countries is just flat out expensive and rockets when you want to track and insure, and package to ensure that postie can't damage the contents however hard they try (and they do try hard).

Aye, I can see why the costs are what they are, especially if you want it arriving in one piece from the US. I've had some bad experiences with that. COVID has messed things up too.

Great to know though re Anderida, I'll keep an eye out... but knowing myself by the time the book appears there I will have found an excuse to justify the costs and purchased from Grim Oak.

Thanks for the response.

Would there be any value in trying for a bulk order?

Taking a look it would bring down costs:

https://grimoakpress...rince-of-thorns

1 book for delivery is $75.45, 2 is $89.72 and 3 is $102.73 for example.

I have always intended to do a Lawrence re-read but was waiting for the girl and the stars trilo to be done. Well the other day I picked up Prince of Thorns and I'm already onto Emperor. I love this trilogy. Last year I didn't make my reading goals and this year looks to be even worse but I am blasting through these books so hopefully I continue at this pace.

Ah, happy rereading. When you read the RQW trilogy straight after TBE you notice just how much they compliment each other, plenty of nods and easter eggs, it really adds to the experience reading the series like that. Also look out for the Orichalcum!

I had to wait for my mood phase to change before I could settle back down into reading The Girl and the Mountain but back to it now, just had a put the book down moment…

Back to reading after The God is not Willing… About 80% done. Just come across a discovery that made me put the book down…

Random thoughts whilst reading, all book spoilers…

Spoiler

Not much more to go, really enjoying the book, I think it is better than the first book, glad that we are not fixed in one location…

And finished, a good end to a good book...

I thought we were due answers - book 5 set on this world - and answers we definitely received. A lot now makes sense, certainly with regards to thinking about the history of Abeth and I am liking how it is all lining up. Especially liked the explanations around the Missing, their leftovers and then the tribes and how it all connected.

We've still got mysteries though so I'm looking forward to book three...

Spoiler

Roll on next year...

Worth noting that the Broken Binding - based in the UK is doing a 10th Anniversary Prince of Thorns special edition at a much lower price point (and cheap P&P for the UK):

I saw this on your newsletter and got it ordered though I missed out on the lettered edition.

Do they intend to do 10th Anniversary for King and Emperor too?

Yeah, the lettered edition was gone in 60 seconds. Always seems to be the way.

They do plan King and Emperor too, as do Grim Oak Press with their super-deluxe version.

Good to see the news letter is getting through - I only started it a couple of years back. Should have had one from day 1 really.

Good news re King/Emperor, they will be added to the look out for list, thank you for the info.

I've come close to ordering the Grim Oak edition so many times now, as in 1 click away, I'll probably crack this month as it is bonus month ha.

The newsletter is a really good idea too, I've never had a problem with it arriving, it normally lands in my "Promotions" tab of Gmail though strangely enough your December newsletter was the first time it landed in my "Primary" inbox.

One thing to consider, if you decided to do more than the usual 3 a year I think your fans would forgive you for that!!!!

Crack! Crack!

(I've just formally agreed to the deal for Grim Oak Press to do the luxury 10th anniversary editions for King of Thorns and Emperor of Thorns)
