And lest we overlook, Karsa's got a built in resistance to magic that gives him an edge. Presumably, Mappo hasn't been just bopping Iccy on the head with his fist all this time, but actually walloping him with his mightymace ™. Icarium seems to need to get a good start to REALLY lay waste. There's a reference in HoC to a former companion, a Thelomen, knocking him out even as he trashed the Azath House where the Jaghut tree now stands.

So he's skillful and powerful, and eventually devastating, but not unstoppable at all times.

Hence, Karsa nailed him fast enough.

Which isn't to say that if Karsa had stabbed him and not killed him outright, he might not have gone ape****e and killed Karsa, Mappo, and most of 7C.

- Abyss, when in doubt, votes that Wolverine would kick both their asses. Posted Image

hello, this is my first post so I thought i'd say hello and apologise if this has been discussed before but i couldn't find it.

my question is how could karsa knockout Icarium with one punch. Icarium's meant to be this powerful being who has never been defeated before, but one punch from karsa and he's out for the count.

If anyone has an explanation for this I would be grateful if they would enlighten me as this has been bugging me for some time.

Two reasons imo:

1: Icarium was not in his state of rage which is when he's so dangerous.

2: Karsa is also a very powerful being, by all indications.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Icarium would win the confrontation, but there would be no victory.
If someone would try to hack Icarium in half(endanger him outright), his instincts would kick in and he would just start unleashing his Warren in chaos attacking everything. And in his full rage, he could attack the other warrens including Azath, what would affect not only this continent, but everything. In DHG p899 Icariums father Gothos states.
Quote: "Wounded warrens are a dangerous thing. Wounding one is far more so. My son sought a way to free me from the Azath. He failed. And was ... damaged."

But Karsa is still my favourite!
