"Our land is truly blessed. We prosper behind the wall of the Kantonian mountains while we grow the finest wine and olives on the flanks of the Aperine range. We are blessed with not one, not two, but three seas to border the land, and all the wealth in the world flows through our ports. Our cities are the envy of men: large but clean, governed by consent, with wisdom and work easily acquired. Our artists shape stone, gold, clay and paint in ways not seen since the ancients. Our courts are sophisticated meeting places, our council halls places of justice, our castles overlook a land at peace. Feuds are contested in the courts of law or the dueling ring, no longer in battle. We even war according to rules.
And yet, our prosperity attract avarice. Our learning is envied. Our art is seen as overly liberal. Our freedom is threatened. And amidst it all, we sit, content. We have changed our world, and now the world itself changes in response. As always, it does not seek to copy: it seeks to conquer. And how do we respond? We forget what we have built, and hide behind walls. We think of the lesser evil, instead of the greater good. And in doing so, we fall back.
Are you truly of noble and wise blood, or are you just old and afraid to lose what you have? That, my lords, is the question these times ask of you!"
Rabble rouser, in the city of Gaiia, centre of the Peninsula of Noblesse, moments before he is dragged away from the Piazza della Pape to a dark dungeon full of nasty torture equipment.

Mod-Notes regarding the game:
All the usual rules in the boilerplate apply.
Please be nice and civil to one another, there's non-veteran people playing.
Days are 32 hours, night as instant as I can make it.
Standard role PM:
The text in blue is all fluff about the role.
You can reveal whatever you want. You are encouraged to lie. To help you with that: Noblesse is a faux Italian Renaissance setting. If you need to blend in, make sure your role PM contains (fake) Italian names.
The victory condition for every faction is to be the last faction standing.
Good luck.

Standard role PM:
Quote
Marcese Ottone di Villanova
You are Marcese Ottone di Villanova, a noble of the Noblesse peninsula. Villanova is a plucky little town roughly half a day removed from the ancient former capital of Noblesse, Gaiia. It is where many of the city's merchants, officials and bishops have second homes, removed from the hustle and bustle of the Eternal City. They come to Villanova for entertainment and relaxation, and as a result, even though you are the hereditary lord of the town, your subjects often outrank you. You deal with it by keeping a low profile, but you have a great many friends in high places, even though many of them are enemies of one another. it makes you a perfect dealbroker, and the house of Villanova prospers as a result
You are a member of the independent nobility. You win when all members of all other factions are dead.
You have no abilities.
You will coroner-find as Marcese Ottone di Villanova, a proud Noblesse noble.
