Spoiler
The story starts out almost a year after the end of Changes and Molly has nowhere to stay but lives on the streets and often showers at Butters apartment. She comes into the apartment one day only to be slapped hard across the face and then pinned up against the wall by Butters werewolf girlfriend Andi. Andi then proceeds to yell at Molly saying she is rude and selfish, she could have been followed to the apartment and put Butters in danger, or arrived when other people were over, and she is being an ass in how she is mourning Harry. Andi says that in case Molly hasn't noticed everyone is mourning the death of Harry and she needs to pull her head out of her ass.
Molly is pissed and thinks to herself that she knew she wasn't followed and she can read peoples emotional energy therefore she is always inundated with how everyone is feeling. She is totally aware how everyone is feeling about Harry and finds it hard to deal with all her emotions and then everyone else's too. Because of this emotion reading she would know if there were others in the apartment and would not come in. She gets so mad she briefly considers connecting with Andi in a way that would show her just how much she has to deal with in the way of all these emotions surrounding her all the time. She chooses not to because Harry has taught her that that would be wrong. All she does is stand there and tell Andi she will try to act better and tells Andi to never hit her again. Andi replies that she won't hit her as long as she doesn't need to be hit again. Molly thinks to herself that if it happens again she will probably hit back considering she pretty much runs on instinct all the time.
Whoa what the FUCK. So Andi the fruitloop decides that instead of talking to Molly she should just assault her and then threaten to do it again as needed to knock some sense back into her. OKAY?????Molly reacts in the least believable way possible. She is always running on instinct but somehow doesn't instinctively react to being hit even before she knows who is hitting her and what is going on. She explains nothing about her emotion reading or defends herself in any way to try to get Andi to understand what she is going through. She just takes her hit like she deserved it and says she will do better. None of that even remotely strikes me as a realistic handling of those events.
Later in the story Molly and Andi are searching a building and Andi turns into a werewolf. Molly lets Andi take point and thinks about all the times over the last year that she and Andi and her werewolf pals worked together. They worked together so much Andi just takes point without even having to talk it over because who wouldn't want a werewolf taking point. Werewolves can't talk but Andi makes a motion and Molly is able to know what Andi means because she can read her emotions so basically she can read her mind in a way. Andi is surprised and "tells" Molly she is weird when she finds out that she knows what she is thinking.
Once again what the FUCK. So not only has Molly been frequenting the apartment Andi lives in over the past year she has also gone on several missions with her and her pals. In all this time Andi never took the time to just have a conversation with Molly instead she let her anger build up and then hit her. Also how is it FUCKING possible that you have worked with a group for almost a year and yet none of them know you read emotions. Somehow it has never come up that you can communicate with werewolves when in their wolf form. This form of communication would be almost necessary on a mission and no one even knows about it. I don't think so.

If a book irritates me this much it is clearly not doing it for me so I have to call it quits on these books.
