Alright, so I'm caught up. I notice Venge didn't put anything in the OP about the setup, I wonder if we can assume what he said in the signup thread is actually how he has distributed the roles (eg. unpaired killers + symp).

Also, it's refreshing how much more sensible everyone is when you can actually see who they all are. Much less messing about and deliberate misinterpretation, I like! I guess the shorter day has a way of focusing people's minds too.

Khellendros shows here that he thinks the setup to be as laid out by Venge in the sign-up thread. That's fair enough, I'm making the same assumption.

But yeah, I know Venge is a big WIFOM fan but personally I tend to find people tend to be a bit too afraid of it. Especially in a game where nobody has license to be wilfully obtuse, I figure it's best to get the discussion out of the way early. To do well in Mafia as town involves knowing what you're looking for, and role spec done right can be a big help in that regard. For example, as Messremb points out, this setup lends itself to scum doing a lot more signalling than usual. That gives us something to work with.

In fact, given the way Messremb has been spraying himself across the thread, I think I'll leave my vote where it is for now. In a normal game I'd applaud him for trying to create those interactions, but in a game where signalling is going to be paramount I feel like he could be trying to muddy the waters a bit. Consider this an upgrade from a joke vote to a 'slightly more serious, I'm about to go to bed now and feel better having left a vote down' type vote.

Alright, so if the setup is as Venge said it would be, the killers aren't 'partners' in the standard sense. So this isn't really Inane defending Unfound because if they were both killers they wouldn't know each other. However, Tatts still refers to him 'jokingly' as a 'partner'. Another signal? Or is this just too blatant?

Actually I asked because my maths is infamously terrible and I wanted to check. So in fact I'd still like confirmation on that question.


So I have Tatts, Unfound, Inane, HO, Azath, and let's throw in Messremb in there too. There's also the lingering suspicion that while Tatts might be a symp, he could also be leading us down the wrong trails, such has been the apparent obviousness of the signalling, if indeed that is what it is. For that reason, I have doubts about whether to go down that route.

Hmm, HO's been asking a fair few questions of people, what do you think about this, why do say this about that. Questions but few opinions.
