Why do you think I'm scum? You've made it abundently clear why you suspect Anthras, a choice I find myself agreeing with for the most part. You haven't really posted your suspicions about me (aside from questions) until now.

I like questions. Feed people enough rope and they hang themselves. The Socratic Method. If it was good enough for him....

You have been vague. You make statements with nothing to back them up. Such as "whoever possessed me is absolutely scum". "Because I say so" isn't a reason. B)

Of course, there is the natural antipathy between those two styles.

I gave you the reasons in a later post. For the same reasons you ask questions, I don't info-dump on thread because I want to see peoples reactions to what I've said before I just vomit everything out there.

I'll be checking this thread a bit on-and-off until timeout, so lynch resolution may not happen immediately after a hammer (if any), but it'll be soon after. Then I'll resolve night and freeze day 4.

"Or I'll go to sleep leaving at least two players banging their heads against the F5."

Sorry guys, I fell asleep/passed out

Demelain is lynched. He had Magic, of course! And he was scum.

---------------
PS edit:

10 players are alive: Anthras, Demelain, Hentos Ilm, Karatallid, Korbas, Korvalain, Okaros, Pran Chole, Tholen, Venesara

6 votes to lynch. 5 votes to go to night.

6 votes for Demelain (Okaros, Anthras, Hentos Ilm, Pran Chole, Karatallid, Korbas)
1 vote for Hentos Ilm (Korvalain)

A group of contractors are running away while slashes of wind are being flung at them from afar. They round the corner and find Demelain in the middle of a courtyard.

"A cigarette cannot physically pass through a coin. There's actually a hole in the coin. Its cover is spring-loaded to snap open and closed. I was once a great illusionist, but today I am spilling the age-old secret of magic tricks. It's absolute torture for a magician, but it's a fair deal. I ruin a few parlor tricks and get to use REAL MAGIC!"

Demelain pulls two swords out of the air and charges the group. He wounds two and clashes with another, but they break it off and retreat. Demelain reaches into his tiny pocket and pulls out a rocket launcher.

"And where are you going?!"

Demelain fires past the group, collapsing a building into their path. Debris is flung everywhere.

"Driving a sword through an occupied coffin? There's quite a few different methods, but they always decide beforehand where they'll puncture. They plan it so the person inside can simply tort their body to miss the blade."

The group sees they cannot retreat and turns back onto the offensive. A ninja-like figure covered in stone and armour plating darts forward at super speed and slashes a sword into Demelain's body, but it passes right through him.

"You see? I am a genuine magician." Demelain levels the rocket launcher at the stone figure. "Abracadabra!"

The point-blank explosion doesn't affect Demelain at all, but tears the stone figure to shreads.

Venesara (Tattersail) was modkilled for revealing. He was innocent. His Messier code was KN-042.

Demelain floats up into the sky. Multiple types of projectiles fly up and through him to no effect, but the buildings behind him are severely damaged by them. Demelain summons from nowhere a pair of hi-tech grenades and drops them towards the group, but just as he releases them the red-haired contractor gestures and the gravity around Demelain is overpowered by a total vacuum enclosing the magician. The magic grenades stay right where they are and then detonate. The acidic explosion enwreathes the magician and does not escape the vacuum. Slowly, the vacuum shrinks smaller and smaller, until it disappears, leaving no trace of Demelain.

Demelain (Dolmen) is dead. He was scum. His Messier code was MR-433.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

OK...not sure it will help much, but:

There were a couple of characters with extra useful powers in the series, regarding contracts.

1st: Bai. While most commonly used as electric shocks, her power was actually more akin to manipulation of quanta. Therefore she was able to *create* Contractors, essentially...or take their power away. She was also able to use her power to do some spoilery stuff involving what amounts to binding her soul to someone else, and also do cool things like nullify "anti-Gate" particles. Though that last bit probably has zero bearing on the game. Basically, she was imba-hax and ultra-powerful.

2nd: Izanami: Super-powerful spectre who could more or less one-shot any Contractor she liked by stealing their...soul, probably. Or Contract. Whatever. Basically she could remotely take over any Contractor's power and turn it on themselves. Yeah. Possibly the harbinger of an Apocalypse. Ultra-powerful.

The character who had "Drinks the Blood of Children" as a remuneration could do something a bit different - namely, they could cause what amounts to catastrophic, earthquake-level damage, by creating hard vacuums. In short, she was probably the Contractor with the most deadly ability, for the sheer volume of people she could kill. Also has a nasty reputation because, well...baby blood.

Of course, if I had included any of those characters as-if in the game, it would have to be everyone versus just them, and if they didn't lynch Izanami/Bai/Havoc on day 1, she uses her ability night 1 to kill everyone and win.

:p

Which is why I said it probably wouldn't help too much. I have my own theories as to what that role might do, but honestly I can't be any more certain about it than any other player. (Though admittedly, talking about this series is fun for me, so...yeah.)

As for the result: thank God.

Thank god, I was really worried about the post-game lynching we'd have to give if a townie had taken that role.

Scum got greedy.

Or stupid. Either way, info from that train and Dem's play is going to be good tomorrow.

Given the relinquishment of Possession before Magic was taken makes me hope it was the jerk who took me over Day 2.

Now we await the night action resolution. Don't worry about falling asleep, D'rek, you can do no wrong.

Memo to self: in the future, do not delay the start of a game with 36 hour days all the way to 1pm just because of a bank holiday. Staying up to 1/2am to resolve does not work

I'll have learned this lesson for next time.

Contractors stalked each other through the broken city, with good and bad intentions alike. There were many screams, and many shouts of confusion. Sometimes both at once. In the morning, Ryllandaras found poor Tholen's body ripped apart in a most grotesque and painful way.

Tholen (Brujah) is dead. He was scum. His Messier code was XY-170.

Ooh boy, 2 scum in one night!

Glad that Demekain ended up being scum! I would have been very disappointed if we had lynched a townie magician! :p

At first I was like, what the fuck are they doing, they're jst going to lynch Dem without even asking any questions!

But later his story didn't match up. His rhyming claimed that he picked up no contract on day 1, the same thing Hentos claimed, so one of them was lying. Now Hentos has brought townies back from the dead, so it was more likely to be Dem who was scum. So congrats guys, though you sure did agonise over it

And I assume that was the vig shooting Tholen - good job. It's a pity we didn't choose Tholen over Kaschan back then, but it was good that someone kept in mind that they had acted pretty scummy over the Hentos almost-lynch.

It is Day 4. The timer is frozen with 36 hours remaining.

8 players are alive: Anthras, Hentos Ilm, Karatallid, Korbas, Korvalain, Okaros, Pran Chole, Ryllandaras

5 votes to lynch. 4 votes to go to night.

Contract list has been updated - go give it a read-over. I won't automatically process any registrations over the weekend unless you specify to go ahead. (If it is your turn over the weekend I will let you know).

Thanks, I guess you know how agonising it is not being able to respond to what people are saying  Now let me explain what happened with you.

This means that a townie has the vig contract cause scum know who each other are and so they wouldn't accidentally big each other.

Given that Tholen had the kill contract it means that currently scum have no kill ability. I expect Rupture will be picked up this weekend.
