New comic LS, set during the Red Court/White Council war just after DEAD BEAT.

Promo blurb and no-dialogue page art at the linky .

I'm a bit gun shy after GOBLIN GHOUL, but even if Luccio and the Red vamps look nothing like they do in my thinkymeatz, that's some nice art.

I'm in. I'm sure I'll pick up the hardcover for cheap(ish) sometime.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Let's face facts, the lot of us are Dresdencrack addicts, and we will all pick up visual representations of these characters...

I certianly will. ^_^

Speculation as to the cover folks are other than Dresden?

Morgan and Luccio both look pretty much exactly as I saw them in my head, which is always nice to see.

Ramirez?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Indeed, I figured Ramirez...though I don't recall his description ever having him with facial hair, he's got a warden sword, so that fits...but it's really the other two I'm most curious about.

Mayhaps they are all wardens...all have cloaks and some form of edged weapon.

I had this pre ordered from Amazon and it just keeps saying not available. I found it at the local comic book store yesterday. The art is really nice. Looking forward to issue#2.

Well, I ordered this with Christmas money, and read it last night. It was...okay. Certainly it wasn't bad or anything, but I think I liked GHOUL/GOBLIN better; it just had a little more personality.

The thing that bugged me the most about WAR CRY, though, was the narration's seemingly-random switching between past and present tense. That's like Rule 1 of writing: pick a tense and stick with it. All Dresden material is done in past tense (and so was the majority of WAR CRY), so the present tense sections threw me off every time.

Also, the hardcover had no bonus content outside a couple of variant covers (not even a full cover gallery.) :(

All the RED SONJA stuff is worthy...especially Gail Simone and Walt Geovani's run.

Mercy Thompson is probably good, as the books are good.

There's a thing by FABLES writer Billingham that's probably good if you're familiar with the source material.

I'm not familiar with anything else there but considering i was inevitably going to buy WAR CRY sooner or later, getting it as part of a whole mess of stuff is win/win.

There's some Alex Ross stuff there too... his art is usually awesome for the eyeballz.

Mercy Thompson was always that series in a lot of people's urban fantasy list that I never understood. Just getting through the first book is a challenge to me.
There is a line before me that demarcates where you stop being treated as citizens and start being treated as soldiers. It is a line only I can see and I swear until all of you--once you cross it you have declared War. Against your city, against your government, and against Me. And make no mistake: I Love to fight Wars.
