That is to say, if I was scum and wanted to derail I would have voted on someone who already had a vote on them.

Good point this is a Tapper game after all. However traditionally town/scum games run with killer(s) and symps - were it a lone killer in GL then it'd be game over already.
You must be drunk? Tapper and traditional do not go well together.
Just had a thought about Amp. Why did you leave GL on L-1 if you thought he was going to defend himself?

Nice! Definitely a better start than last game.
Already on my reread, I agree that combined with the "what begins with the letter A" and then the Amp post with "signalling" followed by a vote for gl very suspicious.
And you aren't in the clear yet MO. Just because people voted gl doesn't mean they are PI. I still think you've got some 'splaining to do. I'm not ready to discount the monkey thing (especially with gl being in on it as well...). But onto the full out reread.

Ok, I admit to being wrong on Alkend, but I will totally defend my play and vote. You cant push someone while being afraid to stick to your guns.
Back at the beginning of day one i suggested that two ballsy scum might come out the gate with a big interaction convo. That witht the other stuff people have pointed out I like Amp for todays vote.

Sigh, no I just am having trouble seeing the connection between Amp and GL being real. To have 2 scum having an all out like that on thread seems silly. Plus, if they both were buddies already, why would they put on such a show (I mean the supposed signalling seemed to be a two way street. Often, the signalling is one sided, with the master at best ignoring the signal and at worst trying to shake off the attention, much like MO btw).?
But now I'm stuck on that first post too. I noticed this quote and decided to do some investigation:
There is no Anane Babble on this site. There is an "Inane Babble" who has been active recently (http://forum.malazan...6-inane-babble/). So was the "I --> A" purposeful? Just a side thought.
Other interesting points from GL. He seemed convinced there would be NK's, which there weren't. Does that mean we did get the killer? Or that he was misleading us? Or that he just was assuming like the rest of us?
I would like to hazard (kind of funnily after Lock's post) that the other alt with "A" is Alkend. Just something I'll keep at the back of my mind.
Back to MO. This quote also looks like a slip up to me (town not getting abilities until level 5). Trying to cover his own basis as scum?
And who doesn't know what WCS stands for? RLY?
Also, if I was being signalled by my symp, I would personally stamp out that problem if the signal drew attention to me. MO definitely seems to agree...

In fact, to quote PS:
Quote
For every 120 posts or every 4 deaths, everyone goes up a level.
I'd blame semantics there. Everyone, if not individually, is even more reason for worry. PS can clear it up for us I hope so I really just operate with above reasoning. I see no harm in doing so.
PS also said he will post the levels of each player. If this is true I think there is an individual aspect to it but again I am blaming semantics. Same strategy remains. We want a higher vote to lynch ratio. Attaining levels off of thread content alone we are already close to a point where level two is attained. More reason to vote players like you out. Day one then push for level 5 Day 2. I am open to changing my opinion Tiam. Nothing is set in stone. Just don't expect another post from me till I am ready to switch votes.
Edit: close to
You echo Rikkter here. Both saying the same sort of thing. Lay low day one and spam day 2. So you want to vote someone doing what you want to do day 2? How does that make sense? In fact, look at it another way, people like Lock have said they can only post when they can. So that means they are unable to post a lot, so if you are wanting to reach the highest level day 2 then keeping the higher posters would make the most sense, and voting off the lower poster like you, Korabas, Rikkter and Alkend to maybe find scum.
Here's the full text of that quote MO referred too. The problem is, while GL was exceptionally noisy, he dropped names like a tree in fall. I almost wonder what names he didn't drop (he even mentioned Denul, who still hasn't posted yet right?). So while your hatred of me, coupled with this tenuous link (yes more tenuous than that gorrilla business) is your current case MO, your suspect pool is quite deep and wide.

Just poking my head in here to read up a bit before I go to bed. Couple thoughts that come to mind:
1 - the flavor text of GL being a "henchman" is interesting. One would assume Hau Fat will be in this game. I doubt Hau Fat himself would be paired with "henchman", so my current line of thinking is that there are two henchmen, probably paired/lovers, as well as Hau Fat in a leader role. No symps. So then the henchman probably know Hau Fat but he doesn't know them. This jives fairly well with GL and the possible signals/hints you guys have been looking at from him. GL and his partner would be trying to setup a partners code they could use later in a fake inno-pair reveal, and at the same time they would be trying to signal Hau Fat.
2 - Why the EU in his CF? Maybe it would come into play (and so would everyone else's) when we hit level 5 and turn into factions (or however that is supposed to work).

I was thinking that there could even be an "orders" mechanic where the henchmen don't choose the target, but just carry out the orders of Hau Fat.

Could be. Previous Spycraft have had roles intended to link together like that. OTOH, this is supposed to still be TMDI:2 for now. Generally I would say that is beyond TMDI:2, but you could stretch the definition.

Ok well GL turned up scum surprising no one. Where to from here?
Rikkter and Alkend have both been town MVP so far. Ampelas has thrown GL under the bus more than a few times I am less inclined to believe him scum.
The signalling case, although quite weak originally has some substance to it if we consider the fact GL was scum carrying or relaying a case. Monok is a confusing character to gauge at the moment. I'd like to read back on him. certain things definately need to be addressed before Days end regarding him and GL. Either GL was setting him up as a master in case he got lynched or Monok is actually indeed the big fish.
Tiam is starting to look more and more scummy for several reasons.
1.The unusual derailment issue on Lock (why lock??? makes no sense to me at all.)
2. The support of a high posting Day 1
3.Somewhat unusual interpolation of events
4.Activity times.
5.Open Support of GL
I'd like to read back on this as each point on its own could be a mistake by town but All 5 at once is a bit too much to let fly. I'm off to work, will follow thread on my phone. When I get back I hope to make a proper argument supporting my suspicions.
(That is if someone isn't doing so already)

Faction (eu/whatever) I think is flavour and we all will find out what at 600 posts, how useful it will be remains to be seen, what if there's 13 factions?
morning, detailed reread now

based on not much beyond my morning bacon sandwiches rumbles, I'm feeling vote for Korabas or taim/lock now.

I really quite like that first quote, I knew something else had been tickling but couldn't place it.
In much the same way MO feels like a Lock/Tiam/Korabas I feel like a Ampelas/Alkend vote today except I have you know some justification behind it.

Eloths confusion on the faction part could be a slip based on existing information and who has it, coupled with the dubious 2 hour post I think he/she (eloth is a feminine name in my head) warrants a further investigation
