But seriously, I don't think the gally nerf is going to be that drastic. They are *increasing* stats it uses, for one (blast radius, mainly) and it will still be an exotic rocket launcher - Truth and Dragons Breath are still better than 90% of legendaries and Truth is second only to gally (and if it was legendary, it would be the only launcher in use - the only reason it loses out is because gally is better for many applications and a top-roll legendary is almost as good but doesn't use an exotic slot).

I can't see them nerfing gally to be worse than dragons breath... Which means it will still be the second best exotic at worst, and fall into a specific application or third-choice role... And that's if they really tank it's wolfpack round damage. Like *really* tank it.

And they might. They don't want it to be the unequivocal best, or used as a gating mechanism for players in PvE. But that's liable to be temporary as they want to 'give it a rest', not make it worthless.


As for the TTK guns... We'll see. Not sure where I sit in terms of interest there, but I doubt they will render year one exotics totally redundant. Much as I want to go hunting for new stuff, I also don't want to be scrapping things it took time and effort to acquire. I don't think Bungie is dumb enough to risk shattering their base with that debate, either. But we'll see. TTK has promised a lot of fixes to stuff they got wrong for the past year. I just hope it doesn't come at the expense of new flaws or, worse, rendering year one pointless.

Hell, I don't think it *can* be as good as long as the analogues are both at the bottom...

I know there are after market options, but afaik they're all crap quality or don't improve on the base product anyway.

It's a shame, because I would seriously considering changing my main console to ps4 if it had a better controller, and there are a lot of games I want to play thay Xbox doesn't have - but until the price comes down I can't justify the purchase for something I won't play because the controls are demonstrably less fun to use.

So I've just defeated my first House of Wolves invasion - those guys who used to one-shot kill me when I was just wandering around the public areas minding my own business back in the early days. Afterward it said that there is a Wolves treasure nearby or some such, though I did not find it. Is that something I can get without having the expansion?


Also, I found out that the Wolves are disappearing come September, replaced by the Taken War. I know MMOs constantly evolve but...I'm really against the idea of any content being timed, and taken out of a game forever.

Yeah, I think you can grab it without. As long as you have a piece of the fight, you can grab on the treasure. BK did this for me when we did a HoW invasion together so that I could get cooler gear. It's usually in a big chest...I'm not sure if it spawns in a specific spot or not.

I currently have a sticky grenade that also seems to have some homing with my Sunsinger, get quite a lot of success with it in Crucible, not sure if that's what you're talking about. I get most enjoyment out of them if I've thrown them on someone about to kill me, and I see them running in a panicked circle from my death screen before earning me a postmortem kill. Just unlocked the resurrection ability, so it'll be even more fun to come back to life after

I think it's fine in PvE...but I don't think it should be available to use in PVP as it screws with stats. I don't get the kill point...and they don't get nailed on the KD ratio for the death. It's like, why did I bother to begin with if none of it counted? I should not have to kill you twice in the same space. It's just a Titan ability right?

I think my fave defense that the other players use which I don't (as a Hunter) which I feel is totally fair is the Titan shell. It stops me from taking pot shots, and to do ANY damage I have to run in an melee. Fully fair, and is a great bonus for them without feeling overpowered.

Resurrection seems like a bit of an overpower thing to me.

I'm torn on this new Mayhem mode. On the one hand, for not-so-good players (i.e. me) it could be good fun, as I can essentially just continually use my supers and grenades to rack up easy kills. But, on the other hand, I also see it becoming super-annoying very quickly, as good players will no doubt be far more effective with those supers than me

I hear the other new mode is a capture the flag type dealie.


I do like that smoke bomb instead of a melee thing though, that's a cool innovation. Though I swear that Hunter still had a melee as well.

I don't think resurrect is OP in PvP. After all, all it does is stop you dying maybe two times in a match, and doesn't help you with killing anyone (other than the surprise factor) like most other supers. Its main use really seems to be for PvE, where it stops the entire team being killed in strikes and raids, prison of elders etc.

So I accepted a random request in the tower for the first time today. I was on my lvl 32 titan and these guys wanted to do Prison of Elders. They had all vendor gear and weps, had never ran a raid or anything despite having relatively high grimoire school scores, and were both warlocks that hadn't specked into sunsinger. It took a while but we eventually did it and beat Kaliks reborn, though I had a few epic last stands in the bubble (defender is definitely my new favourite class!). They got some sweet drops from the chest and got an armour core so they could get a piece of max armour from Variks and take them to 33. It was really satisfying, they were genuinely chuffed afterwards and we ran the nightfall after where they both got an exotic weapon (Monte Carlo and Truth). I told them about destiny lfg after and how it's much easier than trying to find random sin the tower. Felt good taking some less experienced players through compared to the usual of barrelling through everything with max Fatebringers and Gjallarhorns and people actually being glad with any exotic rather than immediately sharding it. I got my chest piece from Variks to take me to 33 and got the class item I'd been after so it was a win all round!

Ah okay, as I've never used it on a character I was unsure how often you're allowed to use it. 2 times fits with typical supers. That sounds more reasonable.

It isn't OP. It counts as a death, and the person has to use their super, and all they get is reserruct, take half damage, and throw lots of 'nades.

If you snipe them in their head while they are doing the reserruct animation, they die again.

I maintain the best feeling on my titan (because titans suck in pvp) is using my death from above to kill a blade dancer that's just getting going.

Oh also, the Warlock RES thing is super-op in PvE. I've seen groups for Crota Hard looking for 4 locks, 1 titan, 1 hunter, because the lock's self-rez makes having someone die a laughable event instead of them being dead until you beat the boss or wipe.

I FINALLY got my first exotic bounty (level 32, so I've been waiting a while for that sucker to pop up).

I had the choice between Thorn, Invective, and Bad Juju. I almost went for Thorn but knowing it will be nerfed somewhat in a month, and that Bad Juju is definitely receiving the Year 2 upgrade (which not all exotics are) I went for that instead.
