I see that most of the IB players are still using Galljys and Thorn....LOL, enjoy it while you can. The nerfs are coming in sept.

Nah the patch was a preview, due just before TTK drops.

Wowwwww I just spawned at the end of Match where enemy had like 19.8k compared to our 6. I dropped in the middle of 3 and killed 2 with shotgun. The 3rd killed me to win match and the fucker lady dunked, danced, lady dunked, danced, & lady dunked on my corpse.... I had taken no more then 3 steps from start to finish. I was slightly pissed watching that. Then of course next round that person wasn't in match so I could take no revenge so I got even madder.

This is the main gripe I have with IB...there are so many people dropping out of matches when their side even begins to lose that half the time you end up being thrown into matches already being played, to fill out the losing side. Yesterday I'd say this happened to me in about half the matches I was in.

I'm bored. Do I reinstall Destiny and buy the x-packs?

Is it worth it?

BK - lag happens during IB because all the people playing are making themselves lag for an edge. :(

@Obdi, haha, it would be nice to have an additional Xbox player to try and get through the Raids and such with. But honestly it hasn't changed much. House of Wolves is a lot better than the Dark Below but it's early promise petered out somewhat after a month.
It's still a good gameplay experience but it's also still very grind-based and repetitive, and there is still nothing of note in terms of plot (at least nothing large scale) that is worth finding out. I'm sure there's crap in the grimoire but honestly trawling through that on my phone to learn a bit of vague world info that should be in the game is still too infuriating for me to give in to. XD

But yeah. Come back, alleviate your boredom. Help me finish the Raids. XD

So can i just buy the latest and skip the previous one, or do I need to buy both to level up to the current level?

Good question. I'm pretty sure you only need one. Oh, but then you won't have the raid for the first one.

... Wait, did you not get the Dark Below? I'm sure you played that for a while...

Of course, in September you can just buy the set (the Taken King basically comes with the two other dlc and the base game for some reason)...

No I hadn't bought either of the expansions.

I hit max level after like 2 months and was just hanging out with nothing to do.

Obdi - you'd probably make 34 even faster than you made 30, lol.

There's a bit more to do and a new raid to grind a bit (though the gear is arguably not as good as the first set) and the Prison of Elders as well (which is smaller but ever so slightly more varied).

@BK - it's easy, set something up to use your internet such that you've got enough left to game but not enough to be smooth (like run a torrent download so it's taking up most of your upstream connection, I believe is the most efficient method).
The you lag. XD

The idea is to make it smooth for you and stuttery for others - though in practice you generally know when you're lagging.

The problem is that Bungie is using networks code that aggressively prioritises laggers too much - so it tends to assume they hit you and you missed.

It's obviously a lot more complicated than that and I don't do it myself so I'm not 100% sure what it feels like compared to normal (non-deliberate) lag...

Forgot one of the reasons I stopped playing this game. 31 light, do the 32 Eldars thingy. Roll through it with 2 34s, they both die a couple times, I don't, I've got more kills than either of the two of them. After the final room it starts doing the treasure thing and i think I'm going to get some new gear, and one of these guys invites me to a fireteam. I figure maybe they want to do it again so I accept. Bam, kicks me out of the instance then tries to add me back in, and then they kick me from the fireteam.

Come on Bungie, think it through. Just a bit.

Oh yeah. The worst thing is that if you drop in round 4, you can't rejoin as 'the activity is about to end'... Even if your buddy is now by themselves, at the start of the round, with no way to win, and a 20 minute plus slog with the two of you even if you could join... After you've been playing for an hour.

I mean, fuck, that's annoying when you have a team mate with a less than perfectly stable connection.

But for someone to do that deliberately... Ugh.

Some new news on the expansion:

Level cap will be raised to 40...and levelling will be overhauled. Light will no longer be a thing, and instead you'll level up through XP as with the first twenty levels - and like in any other game ever made :apt: Armour and weapons will still give a power boost though.

All your weapons will not be boosted further though, and many of the new weapons will be more powerful than anything released pre-Taken King.

But the biggest news of all: Dinklebot is to be replaced by Drakebot. Nolan North is going to be the voice of Ghost, and not just for expansion onwards, but he's actually re-recording all of Dinklage's lines so it'll be him from the beginning and Dinklebot is wiped from existence. Which is harsh - I don't think it was so much his performance as the lines which he was forced to deliver, and those aren't changing.

Some other details, taken from Game Informer via Kotaku:

The Gunsmith in the Tower will have his own reputation meter and bounties—work with him enough and you’ll be able to order weekly weapon deliveries, which sound really neat. Once a week you can pay him for a new legendary weapon, which will arrive on Wednesday with a random set of new perks.

Lots of reputation/material streamlining: Vanguard and Crucible marks are turning into one pool called Legendary Marks, while all class armour materials (like Plasteel Plating) will morph into items called Armour Materials.

Sounds like I'll no longer have to endure Crucible! Except...

Crucible quest lines are coming, as are new Crucible bounty types. Trials of Osiris will get its own set of bounties, and you’ll be able to play through an array of weekly Crucible bounties that eventually lead you to exotic-calibre rewards. This is in addition to all the new PVP maps (eight!) and modes (three that we know of, so far).

I'd taken a bit of a break from Destiny but all the new info about TTK and the trailers have got me super hyped!

Going to need to take down Skolas soon, it's the only thing I've got left to do for the year 1 emblem. I really fucking despise PoE though. I want to get the boots this week because I don't like they way VoG warlock boots react with shaders (it's the same colour as the main body part, not different like most) and equally think the pointy toes on my crota's end boots look ridiculous!

This all sounds GREAT! Especially the non-light leveling. I'm glad they are combining the Vanguard and Crucible marks (I max out Crucible marks in the first like two days of the week and RARELY fill the Vanguard marks up).

It sounds like a few great strides forward.

Also glad to hear that weapons won't level up, and that new Taken King weapons will be stronger. That's going to make things more interesting and give us more stuff to strive to get...which keeps me going.

I think it's a pretty good call replacing dinklebot. He spoke in the main story missions then is never heard from again in either expansion. We had Eris and Petra / Variks but it was jarring not having ghost saying anything. They're going to replace all of dinklages stuff so at least it will be consistent.

Yeah I re rolled that heavy. I love stability but 2 perks on top of the standard stat is pointless.

Also Xur has The Last Word. If you don't have this pistol I highly recommend picking it up. The range on it imo is shit compared to Thorn or Hawkmoon but mid to close range you will fuck shit up in PvP & PvE for sure. QT probably doesn't have it yet. Go get it if yall have 23 coins!!

I get sniped across half the map with The Last Word constantly, so I'd say the range is pretty ridiculous for a hand cannon. Literally the gun which causes me the most aggravation in Crucible. Be nice to get it myself...though I doubt I have enough coins.
