@ D'rek:

Do you have any problems with me assuming that Tatts is doing two "no reactions" and a full retreat from Rigel to Mu Herculis?

Just had an epic 5 player game of eclipse, which ended on a 3 player draw with 34 points each, and me on 32 pts (but with the traitor card so 34 before the traitor card). Ridiculously close. I'd have won with 35 pts but rolled snake eyes in the crucial battle, when any other roll would have won. Really enjoyed playing as pirates though, trashing everyone's fleet at least once in the game before I got ganged up on.

First real life game played with all 3 mini expansions. Supernova was loved by all, pulsar and nebula weren't as popular, but nebula definitely is interesting.

And I just realised pirates don't get traitor card penalties, so it was a 4 way draw!

Gnaw did I beat khell or not  target 1 starbase at a time of you need targeting instructions.

Oh god what madness are you going to come up with this time.

Being allied with you and tatts is no good for my mental health, you keep doing crazy shit! But since drek has almost inevitably won at this poone (I'm expecting absurd point totals of 50+ vp) at least it will be entertaining, just don't let twelve finish above us.

I'll do no reaction for both I think, though I reserve the right to change my mind if someone does something crazy.

MWHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

That has been my master plan all along. Let your mistake of allying with Tatts and Gnaw be your own undoing. Maybe next time you will ally with me. Just think how kick ass we would be if you hadn't attacked me all those turns ago. I'd be your defensive back while you would have marched through Morgoth and CF while I would have been building orbitals and monoliths with what should have been insane material production. Wait this sounds strangely similar to a pitch I threw out at EM. That didn't work out too well either.

I completely agree we would have been an almighty killing machine, but then you'd have pulled a d'rek :p. Plus it's been genuinely a privilege to match wits with you in our little encounters, the game wouldn't have been nearly as much fun if you were on my side.

Very valid concern. I definitely would have looked for an ideal opportunity to do just that. And having a worthy opponent right on my border definitely made it more interesting, right up until I screwed up and got my dread blown up prematurely. Then I'm doing what Khell is doing in the other game. Twiddling my thumbs waiting for the game to get over.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Hmm. It's a dim memory and I'm too lazy to go look, but I seem to recall blackmailing you into our alliance. Are you saying you're glad I did that?

:p

Very possible I don't remember the details either.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

But who won via resources-tie-breaker???

I've played with all the mini-expansions now, too. I don't really like Pulsar that much, usually only hang onto it for a couple rounds early on but pretty soon I find you start wanting full actions more than the one planet trade-off you get for reducing a full action to a reaction.

Everyone loves supernovas. Apparently they reprinted it where the science planet is no longer advanced because it was too overpowered towards Hydrani, or something. I've played with that new version. 3 immediately-useable population slots plus 2 advanced ones means no one ever turns these down, but we did have one game where two unlucky rolls around round 4 or so lead to both exploding very early.

Nebulas are weird. They can get really annoying when you are trying to reach someone nearby and it becomes this super long path with all the sub-sectors in-between, plus you can't do diplomacy across them. It's so fun to explore one between yourself and another player and stick the ancient towards them so you can gobble all the discoveries, though!
