I will research diplomatic fleet.
Tatts I have no idea what to do to rescue your situation, I will help out with attacks if I can (I have some move freedom now at least), but I haven't got a plan as such. Try and get some ships on the board, your weapontech outclasses drek for now, so the more ships you build the better. Just don't throw them away this time!
Drek's researching neutron absorbers though makes it entirely probable that she can afford to just abandon systems and we won't be able to take them off her. But don't lose any more systems and get some material production somehow, and maybe we can salvage something here.
lol, the "somehow" part is up to you Tatts
@ Twelve:
You're now officially the fourth unofficial member of the Chillax Alliance. As such, you shall enjoy tremendous benefits. Most of them ephemeral and symbolic, of course, but we do also supply the best weed bar none - made from Planta younglings (so sweet, so succulent), rolled by the unsurpassed skill of the nimble six-fingered Lyra, and transported on elite specially-cooled Magellan preservation ships. In return, all we ask is that you throw your mighty weight against IH's clunking tin cans.
Thanks for the invite. Friends this game has been in short supply but as Tapper can attest too I have little interest in recreational drugs. Keep IH busy on the East and I will try my best to give him grief in the West that is all that I ask. Now to try and salvage something of this mess I've made for myself.
I was going to RP that, but I haven't had my coffee yet and found it was getting a little too grumpy. I need to do something about the PHD responsible for coffee making.

I wish you hadn't done that. *shrug*

My thoughts here were along the lines that those 6 mats could have been used to keep the Numbered One pinned.

CF - I'm considering passing at this point. I'm flexible enough with reactions to help you with an attack on Tapper if that is desired, and we'll get another round of first pick in tech.
What do you think?

Separatist manufacturing facilities have been directed to construct multiple Antimatter Cannons. Suspect that intent is to outfit all new dreadnoughts at the Formahaut Shipyards with this weapon technology. Remaining manufacturing capacity at the Shipyard is dedicated to ablative hull plating manufacture. Suspect that this plating for dreadnought hull reinforcement.

The time draws near for our Simulacri to act. We have received word that the shipyard personnel have performed in-sector shakedown tests and Separatist command is a mere cycle from launching the dreadnoughts.
I am relieved in a way that you are not planning a push for the centre of the galaxy this year. Though we would surely prevail, I fear the separatists in Formahaut will not act in Directorate interests should a surprise invasion fleet arrive at our doorstep.
If you are satisfied with your own defenses, then we agree conservation of resources is the prudent course of action.
Does anyone find that image format useful? It cuts the file size in half which is important to phone users. But if it's not useful to anyone I'm not going to finish it.
The finished hexes would look like Procyon and Spica in this shot:
Larger text for name and number with all oriented the same direction. The way the file works I have these hexes above the scanned images with ships, discs, etc above that. I simply hide the hexes that I don't want to show. Cubes, ships, etc are all stacked correctly regardless of which set of hexes I choose to show.
I like it a lot, but I don't have a problem on the phone or otherwise with keeping the status quo large raster image.
The fully-rendered hexes do add a nice ambience to the game however....but if it means people have an easier time with the file then I wouldn't vote against the simplified board just for aesthetic reasons.
Maybe a compromise - just relabel the hexes with bigger text against a rectangular black background. You could fit it over the existing nameplates pretty easily. Use a font like Arial or Courier that deals well with the pixelation that inevitably accompanies image compression. If we could do the same to the upkeep numbers on the playerboards (and any other small, but important text) we could dispense with the full-resolution image entirely I bet.
EDIT
By the way Gnaw, I am super glad you're back and well and modding again. I forgot how fun this game was and you do a very good job as gamemaster.
