Twelve. Have your read "The Stars My Destination" yet?

I haven't tried to figure out how to connect the kindle to the flash drive yet. It requires wires and knickknacks and doodads and some sort of mysterious magic that Presto Changeo. Wal-La I have an e- book to read.I'm still stuck on the first part.

There is your problem, you should be using a thingamajig, not a knickknack or a doodad.

Thingamajigs are expensive, we're not all loaded like you IH. You could try a whatsit instead, twelve. Same result for half the price.

Yeah but with whatsits all sorts of problems can occur down the line, if you aren't going to shell out for a thingamajig, I'd at LEAST go for a thingamabob, not quite as effective as a thingamajig but better than a whatsit anyday of the week.

Who are we waiting for now? D'rek has a provisional in to research advanced mining, so it's Gnaw then twelve right?

I'll put a provisional in to BUILD 2 x cruisers in the hive hex Upkeep -5 £0 S0 M1

Ummmm. Why are you building those there again? Your Dread can take out the ancient. Shouldn't they be build say next to the GC where they can, oh attack the center or maybe back up your ally from an assault from Tapper?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

So I can hit vega and 108 with my cruisers and still leave my dread to defend the hive hex if you try some funny business.

I can't attack the centre this turn, and Gnaw didn't want me to remove the 105 ancient yet, and that means I can't help if Tapper attack this turn (personally I think Gnaw is more than capable of fending off Tapper this turn).

Though thinking on ityou are right in that maybe it makes more sense for tatts to take the vega hex with his dread and I move both my cruisers close to the centre? What do you reckon tatts?

I can do two more moves, maybe 3 at a push. I will upgrade my dread next go again. I could do 3 more moves if I take Vega and colonize with money. The discovery would be nice too.

If you colonised vega i'd bankrupt out of it if I was you, colonising with money just reduces your options down the line. Plus you are already going to have more money planets than you can colonise once you get advanced economy. I'd leave yourself a reaction in case d'rek decides to attack you, so don't go overboard on moves if you don't have to.

Yes, but then if D'rek reacted and moved into your systems you wouldn't be able to stop her. Maybe just upgrade and pass? You can react to attack vega, or stop d'rek later if you choose...

Good thinking. yes, that is what I was thinking earlier. I was going to upgrade and pass because I didn't think Vega was an option. I am not thinking about the southern hexes, I've been thinking about D'rek and how to get at her :unworthy:

But before you bankrupt that hex I would gladly exchange ambassadors with you Tatts if you want to still do that.

I have a better idea Tatts. Why don't I move my interceptor to supernova now, and you just let me take it. It's going to blow up if you keep it, and it'll blow up on me soon enough, anyways. Then there's no need to worry about me attacking elsewhere.

Why would I do that?

Also you and Tapper visited my mother's house in a dream last week. It was so vivid and I don't even know why it was just the two of you. My image would have been off as well but we just hung out :unworthy: I made you both a cup of tea and we watched TV and chatted.

You know Tatts thinks about Eclipse too much when...

Provisional

CONVERT 4 money to 2 materials. BUILD Orbital in Psi Capricorni (or whatever it's called...up next to Arcturus and Alpha Centauri, NW of my homeworld), populate with SCIENCE. BUILD Starbase in Formahaut. POPULATE two advanced science slots, one on homeworld and one on Formahaut.

@Rules:

Not that I have anything to do with an extra colony ship just now, but does the above constitute a use of 2 or 3 colony ships? In other words, does building an orbital require a colony ship to populate it or does it populate by default?

Colonizing the orbital uses a colony ship.

I should add that my provisional move is incumbent on no aggressive action or posturing taken against me or my ally.

If that happens, then I'll withdraw.

Morgoth likewise can pull my provisional and wait for my input if he sees a really good reason to do so.

So Tatts are you 100% going to attack and influence Vega? And you are 100% sure that you want to exchange ambassadors? Well hell even if you don't it's not going to change my move so I might as well put it in.

Action 3: Influence
-move influence disk on supernova to 304
-return all three population cubes to materials
-move influence disk from player board back to supernova
-deploy 3 colony ships
-populate material slot on 304
-populate 2 grey slots on supernova to science.
-reset 2 colony ships 2 ships available.

(1$, 0S, 2M Upkeep -10)
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I think we can safely say this is assumed for all provisionals, going forward.
