So we're waiting on D'rek.

Edit: Besides, we don't have a pass from Tapper. So there's no way there will be fireworks tonight.

And that means the Interceptor Kzaali is all alone. *shrug*

I am however, staking a claim to possible reactions.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

morg's turn 5.

but i was willing to skip that. which means that D'rek beat me with her turn 6 pass.

OYOH, we've not heard a word from Tatts: I've just been assuning he would pass.

I can influence the hex. Now can I be the first to congratulate Gnaw on his masterful slow play (I don't think it's worth doing another reaction Gnaw, even if you want to bankrupt another hex, I'd hang on to it and keep the resources for next turn).

So everyones passed, actions are locked in now I reveal the master plan

Brilliant play. I can't believe D'rek didn't see this. I completely overlooked this as well.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Well. That's pretty brilliant indeed.
I think that sets the hippie alliance back by a turn, if not more.

I don't even know what that is.

Although I understood by Gnaw's feverish attempts to get to the end of the round as fast as possible and the constant checking of moves that something was up.

Though I still don't know what.

It will destroy most of your ships straight away. It came in a discovery earlier on. Basically deals one damage to all ships in engagement before any missiles are fired.

You need to use it before the missile round Gnaw

This might sting a bit for us too. After I updated the board last night I realized that a cruiser with 2 +1 computers and 2 plasma missile batteries would have been so much better than the interceptor. Ah well.

Now all that had nothing to do with the burst. That was all about getting that shit straight while I was fully awake rather than trying to decipher it this morning.

Slightly bad news. Once I realized that Tapper needed the opportunity to see the thread and do the final pass, I started doing computer things. (I got a RAID enclosure and I'm setting it up RAID 1 instead of the RAID 0.) Somewhere during that I didn't save the svg file. That means no map until this evening. And no battles until I go back through the moves yet again.

Apologies.

Battles if D'rek wishes to do the rolls.

Draco orders depend upon technical issues.

Ints vs ints.

Missile engagement:
Draco uses Nova Burst. 7 interceptors destroyed.

Draco vs GCDS

  • I have initiative over the GCDS due to missiles. If, instead of firing the missiles, I order retreat does it get one shot at me?
  • missile engagement start retreating
  • engagement one GCDS fires
  • engagement one Draco successfully retreats. (assuming it missed of course)

OR does it go:

  • missile engagement don't fire missiles so immediately go to cannons where GCDS has initiative
  • engagement one GCDS fires
  • engagement one Draco starts retreating
  • engagement two GCDS fires
  • engagement two Draco successfully retreats. (assuming it missed of course)

Draco retreat if GCDS only gets one salvo. If it gets two salvoes, fire the missiles and die.

So did you guys organize that novaburst play off thread? I don't remember it being mentioned. Just wondering if the consensus was to allow that. I know Morgoth was against, but I don't recall an official word from anyone
