You put the cube back on material?! What are your resources now then, so I'm clear 15/6/4?

Re warp portal, yes you build it then can move through it to either warp portal. Certainly getting starbases isn't to put down isn't a bad idea.


if you get the warp portal (which I do not think is wise just yet, put it in your supernova. If you research starts to fall behind, IH can take it.

It might. I'm still undesided on what I should do at the moment. It's going to be a research and I'm fairly sure Morgoth will research and I would like to know what he takes but I'm leaning towards something that will still be there I think.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I like the 8 starbases idea, but probably better still for you to take it first, and if we want to later we can switch it to me or you. You've still got 4 colony ships to put down this round and will gain more from having a closer hex to build from right away. I would have to do an influence to get back colony ships in order to utilize it well, and then I wouldn't be able to afford influencing the GC, I think. Plus you already have starbase tech and I don't yet.

Let's stick with the Planta-influence plan for now and can look at swapping it later. And then again later on after that if we really want that 1 VP :)

Ah yes, I had forgotten that you don't actually have starbases yet. Yeah, let's not overcomplicate, when (if!) we take the GC I'll influence it and immediately plop down the bases.


Good thinking early on by Tapper to get that antimatter splitter, that may help a little more too (perhaps not so much with teeny interceptors, but still...)

Related to this, I have been thinking all the way to Round 9 (oh yes!). If it's a close run race, one way our alliance could get a few free points at the very end is if you and Tapper were to de-influence the hexes around me and let me influence them - 1 extra VP for each of them.

But obviously that's a long way off yet, and may not even be necessary.


Edit: Although, having said that, I wonder if doing such a thing may actually hurt our average score. Yeah, I think it would. Plan in the bin then.

Hah, yes, I did suspect you wanted it. Which is why I figured I couldn't risk gambling there being another one available next turn. I too had to wait to make sure Tapper didn't take it.

CF, Orbitals is a risky move. It makes your hexes more attractive to dirty foreigners. Still, risky play is fun play. Just make sure Tapper doesn't attack you this round. And when he does, don't be unprepared.

Grad students come to my lectures unprepared all the time. When they do, they fail. I fail them. And then I spend time in my office laughing so hard my beak sounds like an aggressively used castanet.
