Questions and/or comments on the dice syntax.
For these simple battles, the "x" modifier allows computers and shields to be taken into account in the actual roll. As long as I enter the information correctly the result is a simple hit/miss for each d6. And by posting the roll description before the battle mistakes stand a good chance of getting seen and corrected before the dice are rolled.

Not yet.
I could roll those, the tech, and even the discoveries. But all of that conceivably could influence Morgoth, CF, and Tapper.
Technically, we're on Turn 5:
Morgoth: ?
CF: reaction?
Tapper: reaction?
Turn 6
Khell - pass.

I'm a bit confused on the order of events with upkeep and influencing hexes. Is what you and Gnaw doing a legal move?

It depends upon how 'by the book' you want to be.
If we go straight by the rules with no deviations, then no, it's not.

End of Combat Phase: place influence discs.
Beginning of upkeep phase: colonize planets, do upkeep.
Essentially what we've done is Gnaw moved to upkeep and went bankrupt while IH was still in combat phase.

To run this as a forum game, there has to be some flexibility in timing. I fully understand if someone has issue with the "Gnaw is in upkeep phase while IH is still in Combat phase". That's pushing "flexible" maybe a bit too far.
The fix for that is simple.
End of Combat phase:
IH influences Delta Corvi. Or doesn't influence at all.
Upkeep phase:
Gnaw
IH
Option A: At end of combat, influences Delta Corvi
Option B:
The end result of doing it the way we did vs by the book: -2 mats for IH.

How can IH influence the warp portal? Or are you saying prior to him passing? Basically I'm all for keeping IH as down as much as possible. He is someone I'm always worried about. And I of course am for by the book unless house rules are in affect list prior to the game start. Any one else have any input on this.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

IH can influence during upkeep.
Note this is not exactly true. Influencing a hex that you have a ship in post-combat occurs still in the combat phase - ie it must happen before any of the Upkeep Phase actions.
Probably doesn't make any difference here, but in some scenarios it can.

I'm not really sure what we're talking about between IH and Gnaw.
Is it a hex that had a Gnaw influence disc and ancients, and IH fought the ancients? If so, there's no way that IH can influence it at the end of the combat round, as there is already an influence disc belonging to his ally present. Gnaw can remove it in the Upkeep Phase if he is bankrupt, and then IH can influence it in the next round using the Influence Action in the Action Phase or from his ship at the end of the Combat Phase.

As I said above. Easy fix.
IH influences Delta Corvi (or not, as he wishes) and I'll colonize Castor. Then pull the disc next round when we explore the hive.
@Twelve I wasn't trying to get one over on you. I thought that the "can influence discs" was part of upkeep until I looked at the checklist a few hours ago.
The only end result difference is IH gets two less materials this turn. *shrug*

I wasn't accusing you of trying to pull one over. I just wasn't sure the order of how things resolved but correctly, according to D'rek, assumed that what you were trying to do wasn't legal. I am still, however, confused how IH is going to influence and colonize the warp portal hex. He doesn't have a ship there to influence post combat and I don't remember him influencing the tile so how exactly will he colonize the money planet? Did I miss something earlier?
