Do we not get an initial tech draw before we pick race?

:p

Want me to change to the Pirates for you IH?

I think you select your homeworld orientation in play order. You first, then Morgoth and so on. I don't know about the Tech draw. I'd assume that would be done after everyone picks their race.

But I promised a predictive technology draw would happen before choosing of races.

Yeah, it's definitely one of those days.

Feel free to stop the process while I actually set up the tech. Apologies. :p

I actually never considered when to do hex orientation when I screwed with the rules. :p2

Locked while I get my shit together.

Should have used these since I took the time to download them from boardgamegeek.

Their house rules are theirs, not mine. But it's a handy checklist to go by.

You're the person who gets to day 3 in mafia without realizing there's a reactionary vigilante ninja because you didn't read the OP aren't you? :p

Fuck me running.

Shit, shit, shit.

I did NOT have SH access for Azath's 105.5 game; he never sent me the password. I had the idea of a "reactionary vigilante hooker" for the one horrible, horrible game I designed but didn't have room for it. Since then it has become my personal "exotic role" name template.

The tech draw is a problem. You know the saying "if you don't have pictures it didn't happen"? Well, I have the from random.org screen shots.

We have two options. I post the tech draw and we redo the race selections. Or we continue picking races and I toss the tech draw for a new one timestamped after Tapper picks race.

Wait Gnaw, why can't we continue picking races and you post the tech draw afterwards?

I'm glad you asked.

I don't think there is a single person who would choose the race they've got currently if they had seen this tech draw first.

I do not think know there would not be a single explore in the first turn. And I say that as the 8th person in play order. Turn 1 would be 9 straight research actions.

Edit: changed "would be" to "would not be"

I'm fine either way. I kind of like the races being chosen first in honesty, to keep one on ones toes and all that.

Since it is probably easier just to pick and get a random tech draw, I choose mechanema. Does make the eridani a risk with blind tech, as their killer strategy is grab quantum grid early.

If CF does not pick Iridani, I'll have a decision to make. If he does pick Iridani, then Magellan for me.

Cool. I'll stick with the Guardians. I might hit myself on the head with a rock later when that tech board pops up, I guess.

BTW, as a cool bit of flavor, Epsilon Eridani is from the Fall of Hyperion novel.

Between Tapper and D'rek? Christ...um, alliances guys??

Hey D'rek, Enlightened and Planta, surely we can form some sort of pacifist 'we know better because we're so patient and enlightened and mildew-ey' alliance?

Played a 6 player game of eclipse over the weekend as the planta, went with the standard explore lots, fortify and plop down monoliths at the end strategy, but I think I may actually have been better off going all out aggression, bizarely I had the most powerful ships on the board by the end with double improved hull, double antimatter cannons, and both antimatter splitter and point defence. I ended up going the entire game having only one fight with the ancients as no one dared approach. Anyway just cemented the point that if you leave the planta alone, and don't attack them they will rise up into a terrifying beast which will crush all before it.

So in other words, attack Khell :p

Why do you wish to doom me before the game has even started? Did I wrong you in a past life? :p

The Hydrani have already rounded up a room of Ash'ian phd students to formulate our best course of Action. I believe "Destroy Khell" is under Section 3.2.5 of the early draft.
