I'm not sure what race I want to try next. I'm thinking I'd like to try the Exiles or the Squids. But I'd be willing to play any race that I haven't had a go with yet with the possible exception of the Lyra. For some reason that race just doesn't appeal to me at all.

You didn't read the PSA did you?


I like the Lyra, but not certain if I want to tackle a species I haven't seen in play while I'm modding.

For the record I'll take both hives and Supernova tiles as my first 4 exploration tiles every game. I'd even be okay with the empty hexes as long as I land the right discovery tiles. So I guess that means I need to brag, brag and brag somemore so I can have some favorable mod assistance.

Colors. Since this is the same 8 people as game III, I think we should we go with:

• Everyone keeps the color they have in g3.
• Everyone gets a different color.

I don't care either way, but as the person doing the maps I don't want a mixture. Too easy to confuse me. :

Race-wise: Enlightened, Exiles, Magellan.

I don't care what colour my ships are at all.

I came to the decision that race will be based on my position in pick order. If I manage to end up at the top of the list again I might as well pick something unique just cause you don't always get to be at the top of the pick list. I can't say it worked out the best for me as Rho Indi, but I hung in there alright. With a bit better luck on my explores I could have done a lot more I think. Having to fight tooth and nail for materials basically ALL GAME was annoying with my ships costing so much.

I might give some thought to what my neighbours are picking cause it would be useful in an alliance situation to have complementary racial bonuses...though that's not a massive priority.

If I'm not high in pick-order and can't get one of the more interesting races I'll likely just go Terran. They don't really have a massive leg up or disadvantage and function well in an alliance with any race, really. Same for Magellan. Thing I like about Terran is that if you can get em going then you have that huge advantage of 3 moves per action, which comes in super handy in the late game.

Are we allowing off-board private discussions between alliance members?
