Delete a thread?

I opened a tread at some forum and afterwards I found a more appropriate forum for this thread. So I re-opened the thread in the other forum. Now, is there any way to delete the first? And what is the proper way here to act at such cases?

You can't. Have to ask an Admin/Mod to do it.

Is it common here to ask the Mod to delete it, or is the usual thing is just to leave it as it is? (as long as there is no spoilers problem, of course)

I've deleted what I assume is the topic in question (hope so anyhow).

Normally you'd probably ask a mod to move the original thread rather than creating a new one and having it deleted, since that preserves any responses. Otherwise it's better not to have unnecessary duplicates, so asking for it to be deleted would be my preference (report the thread with the explanation it's a duplicate/in the wrong place or PM a mod).
