addendum to the above: look at the Bank Robber knack

Caught out by the Knacks again dammit. However, note the Bank Robber only has Spades 3 and Cheat 6 - has he really just spent 50% of his Cheat on this one action?

[1]

If he could keep Jalan there for as long as he wants, then it's possible it would be worth it, though I can't even guess why.

Could be an ability of some sort. Doesn't seem like anyone could have gotten XP from yesterday, AFAIK.

This mechanic of any failed lynches carrying over to the next day is pretty scary. As Denul suggests

So in essence, if we refused to vote for mayor at any point, the game could be decided by only NA's or other actions, with no power given to the mayor/judge, but only if we never elect one, because if we wait for multiple days, and then elect a mayor, the judge can fuck us all up.

)

we could just not elect all game to stop it being an issue, but I tend to think that if we do that someone is going to end up pulling a special 'I get +3 votes' ability out of their ass later in the game and get 10 lynches to win the game.

The alternative is that I think this is good motivation to try and elect successfully every day to keep any given day's election from having more than one lynch.

Another reason to look at those that were okay with the letting the lynches pile up.

Edit: (3)

I just skimmed over the thread and didn't find much in the way of people willing to let the lynches pile up. Barghast was one, but that was just due to it being day 1. Initially, Barghy stressed the importance of getting a lynch everyday, but later changed that decision because of the risks of a day 1 lynch.

Nimander Golit agreed with that sentiment at first, but seemed to decide it was too much of a risk. (Post #401 territory here, since my browser is crashing when I try to quote, sorry).

Nothing conclusive here, to me anyway. It's worth noting that a lot of players didn't vote, and they say actions speak louder than words...

Someone killed a longhorn cattle thing, which is a summoned creature, and when summons are killed it gives 1 xp.

Each day, the mods add a number of alts equal to (current player number / 3, all fractions rounded up), to the game.
These alts cannot post or vote and are considered to be present on all Locations at the same time. These alts can be targeted with all abilities, except for being Elected. They have a Health of [1].
Killing them will not give XP. The message X (altname) was killed. He was an innocent bystander will be given as CF.

Whenever a player casts a Summon ability or creates an item that occupies a Temporary Alt, one of these alts will be given to them.
This alt then gets the Location of its creator and it gains statistics listed in its creator's role PM.
Killing this alt will result in a gain of 1 XP and full CF, including faction alignment.

Ah right. If abilities like that exist for one, it's more than likely others have them as well. I doubt Lio is the bank robber though, because of the cheat cost involved. I really doubt half the cheat would be used on that action either.

That's why I think he might have something like a "Cost = Luck [4] -- Create a free Clubs/Diamonds/Spades/Hearts [3] die that lasts until the end of the day" ability that he could use to get the Shoot Out cantrip if he really wanted to. Bank Robber role description talks about the importance of location after all.

You're only allowed to use one die per ability, no more, no less. That's made very clear. So he HAS to have a Spades [6] die.

Liosan - though I thought it would be fun to screw with you re your inability to spell, I accept your challenge.

Now, do people not find him a little terrifying? He just wasted a Spades [6] die, and a bullet pip to get me to the same tile as him. This is presumably so he can hurt me during the Day phase, cause if he thinks I'm just gonna sit on the tile he's dragged me to, they've got another thing coming to them. Given this turnout, I'll reiterate that I'm willing to name whoever will lynch Liosan as Judge if I'm elected Mayor. In fact, I'd appreciate if you guys would just elect me mayor regardless and allow me to figure out who'll lynch Liosan. Let's not leave it until last minute people, so that we don't have a repeat of yesterday.

Or a smaller Spades die with a willingness to use a bunch of Cheat dice.

I dunno about you, but I don't have random [6] dice laying around that I can waste on the more expensive Cantrips. Is there any information about what kind of spells each suit might be related to, if any? Like, is one suit for Summons, one for Hexes, one for something else, mostly, or is it just a mish mash?

As per the OP:

Quote

Clubs represent force and natural force, as well as challenge. Most Wagers in Role PMs require a Clubs die to start it, and roles that centre around combat magic (throwing fireballs, electricity or gravity around) centre on Clubs.
Diamonds represent metal, money and resistance and are therefore often used for Items, protective abilities and money making abilities.
Hearts represent biological growth as well as courage: both scientists brewing gene mutations in laboratories as well as healers of mind and spirit work with Hearts.
Finally, Spades stand for death, and both necromancers and murderers have an affinity with this suit.

Anyway, I'm out for now.

So if Liosan has a Spades [6] dice to throw away, it stands to reason he's a necromancer of some sort, or a murderer of some sort. Frankly, I'd rather have neither of those types of roles in play, specially if one of them is a Necromancer.
