Mine should read, "I want <unspecified low poster 2> dead, therefore I should vote Ultama for mayor. I never mentioned my lynch target, however I have Rashan up for my judge, who claims to have a low poster listed.

Damn, you're right, sorry. And I checked it 3 times too. Permission to seppuku?

[1]

I also had Rashan as Judge, but he is going for a low poster, this correct?

As I said earlier, snarky Barghast is snarky.

Nimander Golit said:

Interesting that Bargy seems to be pushing for a non-lynch the first day than handing the next judge extra power. That last post rubbed me all sorts of ways wrong. Rants in mafia are wonderful, except when they are so easily provoked that they seem more contrived than real.

We've got a non-lynch already. How many people are going to be active between now and Night? Enough to swing it? I doubt it.

Rubbed you up wrong diddums? Easily provoked? Color me newb. Maybe it is because I took time and thought to include punctuation and grammar?

[1]

It's a TMDI SKY HIGH ™ game. There's bound to be many, MANY wtf moments. I'm quite stunned we've had as much activity on thread as we did on Day 1.

[2]

I agree with that sentiment. I was expecting to have to read 2 or 3 pages tonight, not 7. This is likely to be my only post before timeout as the cycle ends about an hour before I have to get up for work and I can't stay up any longer. After work tomorrow I have no weekend plans and Monday-Wednesday off so I can actually play! For now, I'm going to vote for Barghast because he's put a lot of effort into trying to be helpful and I agree with his rant a bit. I think the spilling of lynch and judge choices is ridiculous as the likelihood of honesty in those postings is very low with the exception of Fanderrid. For some reason the way those two gravitated towards each other so quickly and the way they so vehemently denied a connection indicates to me that they are at the very least being honest about their choices. If they were lying about them I don't see a reason to get so pissy about being fingered as lovers.

Was your edit in the first post after your vote, so it should actually read [3] bullets? Or did you not subtract for your vote and should only have [1] left showing?

[2]

It was late and I forgot to put the vote in my first post but I calculated the vote as being cast. In other words, the numbers are right the order is just fucked.

OK, day timed out.

I am very slowly making headway through PMs, sorting things out. The good news is that I can resolve all phases in one go, the bad news is: it will take some time.
I have some other commitments in between ;)

By my count:

2 votes for Fanderay (Merrid, Grasp)
1 vote for Merrid (Fanderay)
1 vote for Rashan (Ultama)
1 vote for Barghast (Hentos Iln)
2 votes for Meanas (Lock, Cast)

It doesn't really make much of a difference though.

Do we have to show our bullet die if we post at night?

It does if whoever has the most votes gets elected mayor.

I'm pretty sure it's that we need to get the majority+1 and if the mayor doesn't give his choice in by his first post after rien ne va plus then the player with the next most votes becomes mayor, not that whoever have the most votes at the end of day becomes mayor, because if it was whoever had the most votes at the end of day, then we'd never have the judge with multiple lynchees situation.

Yeah if we don't pick a mayor then there is no judge and that means no lynch.

So we have another 24 hours to decide who should be Mayor. Other than the current candidates are there any other people we should consider? I, for one, do not want to vote too many times. I am leaning towards voting Rashan out of the three.

(2)

I want those who have votes announce their judge in thread and then I want the judges to say who they will lynch before I vote.

That seems reasonable, do you think people will do it? If no one votes anyone then the person with the highest amount of votes becomes Mayor.

This was not said by PS anywhere was it? It looks really unlikely.

The rules say that if the Mayor has failed to have his choice for Judge in, the player with the next highest amount of votes becomes Mayor.

In the scenario where there is no Mayor elected, we move to night. Because there is no Judge today, the day 1 lynch will be selected by tomorrow's Judge. So basically, with no election of a mayor each day, the Judge, when finally elected, can murder the entire thread.

I'm just left speechless.

Perhaps by the fact that this thread thinks it's smart to let the Judge's lynches accumulate to more than 1? With just 2 lynches, a Judge can wipe out half a team... I hope this doesn't become the trend this game, otherwise it's no longer really Mafia, is it?

I think it is in every factions interest to vote a mayor. Every day.

Despite not voting today, I agree as well as per my previous reasoning. At the point in which I fully joined the thread, it seemed almost a foregone conclusion that a lynch wasn't happening though.

I will be placing a vote tomorrow without fail.

I wonder if voting means spending a bullet also has some people hesitating. If anything, that spells out how misninformed people are about the importance of voting in mafia*

*although I will admit, game-design-wise charging people an action for voting is going to change people's behavior significantly no matter what.

Can we all agree on either a lynch target or mayor target early doors? I think it would be better for us to nominate a mayor (who doesn't have to tell us anything) then we can discover what happened the day after the lynch. The Mayor is most likely going to pick someone of an opposite faction to be the Judge.

At the end of the day we cannot control who the Judge lynches. He/she should choose whoever they want lynched, for whatever reason they deem necessary. That person may not get a second chance at Judge. If he chose to lynch one of my faction then that is hard luck on me and mine.

Going off what I just said, people striking deals was probably the reason we stalled one day one. I'll vote you, if you vote for me was always going to put peoples' backs up.
