I can't really say I think Rash is scum. I didn't think there was a point to any other vote last night as nobody was really around and I didn't have the time to stay up and look for a better target/push that target. Doing some flippy floppy sparse re-reading. Here's some random thoughts:

1 - I agree this Rashan bit has gone far enough, time to look elsewhere

2 - if you want to pursue the idea of scum having not gotten their kill order in, you need to go far enough back that they wouldn't have put in a weekend provisional either, so before PS started announcing mid-Friday that the timer would keep going all weekend. I don't think this is a very dependable scum-finding tactic, given that we've had other nights with no kills, but go for it if you like. Also, bear in mind with double NKs there's probably two separate killers with their own NKs instead of paired.

3 - As for looking for new targets, I'd like us to look closer at Jalan and Barghast. Both of them give me a vibe of not caring too much about the game/town success. Being absent is one thing, but Barghast will be present but not make much effort to push things. Like making "alternate option" votes without any additional explanation of why his alternative might be scummy.

I'm noticing a pattern here. He sets up a main target and looks for or finds a backup(i.e. Alkend/Rashan, Alkend/looking for another target), staying relatively noncommital votewise. He seems to have tried to go under the radar after the Lio spat. This could be scum trying to not be noticed after the Lio stuff and subsequent NK of Lio, which may have been him trying to take out someone who went after him, but NK analysis does not a good case make. In all honesty, D'riss has acted scummily this game, but not (imo) egregiously so. That actually makes someone seems scummier to me, because scum would be aware of what is scummy, and try to avoid it. His playstyle is scummy enough to be noticeable, but not so much so as to convince me that no sane scum would play that way, and make him less suspicious. There's not enough evidence there to convince me thoroughly as to him being scum, but I know for sure I'll at least keep an eye on him.

His reaction to the PS vote mix-up event seemed rather joking to me, too, while everyone else around him was clamouring for more time or a fix because they wanted to get the lynch like townies would.


Jalan I'm sure you've all seen. He is snarky and dismissive, which makes him seem present, but at the same time it's his excuse for being low in content and to make very little effort.

That's a good question. They most certainly did use fans, and one of the most famous scenes from the sengoku era is Takeda Shingen fending off an attack from Uesugi Kenshin with only his iron war fan. War fans aside, it was fashionable and useful in the hot Japanese summers to have a fan, and pretty much all popular depictions of samurai (from modern movies or TV dramas to Kabuki) will show them carrying and using a fan.
