Very Specific question on Antsy incident in OST where Esslemont confused the heck out of me

If anybody could clarify this for me, it would be great.

It's on page 424 and 425 in the trade paperback.

It's right after Antsy, Orchid, and Corien meet Girth in the Spawn. After Girth tells Antsy the mages want some munitions to blow the door to the Throne, Orchid gasps and Antsy goes nuts for a second. I'm not sure why. Then the main witch calls a gathering and Girth walks off, saying perhaps Antsy's friends can help. My question is, help him do what? And why does the sergeant act threatening and say "Out of the frying pan, friend." Were they going to imprison them or something?

Esslemont's prose just throws me sometimes. He can be very unclear. Any help on this?

Antsy's "friends" are the Bridgeburners. The I take it to mean maybe they can help him escape. Girth recognized him and knew who he was, then Antsy shook his head at him so he didn't reveal it to the others. The fying pan comment was referring to Girth telling his Lt., if not who Antsy specifically was, but definitely something about him, perhaps that there was a good chance he had munitions. Which he did. The frying pan was the mess he was in. The proverbial "fire" was the meeting with mages, who wanted those munitions.
