You sillies! Can't a soul get some rest over an extended weekend?

A good worker never blames his tools. But then I guess you guys are not great workers. It's not my fault if the majority is not even bothered to vote for the fury they want!

Damn, I never thought of this way of putting it. You are sneaky Sir.
Sneaky? Nay! Merely stating the facts. Why you people cannot wait to vote until after the weekend I just do not know. But the impatience will be your loss. Edit: forgot the word 'wait'

The infested tile = alt spawned may be the mechanic involved however it may not be the likely one. Narash was infested at the start of Day 1, Tiam appeared Day 2. Shuar was infested start of Day 3, Rashan appeared start of Day 3. The timing is inconsistent, if anything I'd suspect Tiam was spawned by a different mechanic and that one of the alts starting the game was the one from Narash being infested.

But didn't we start with too many alts for players signed up to begin with?

I think Tiam/Rashan/Whoever is just a wack-a-mole mind-jerk, but let's get that CF.

How do you find that being the 6th vote or something on a train is leading the thread?

Day one Fener got pressure for that "keeper" comment. Day two Tiam is spawned and Fener talks to him like an old buddy. It looked believable, I've never read the books. So I went with the flow, just like many others. Now day 3 and we have Rashan, so that whole thing yesterday was pure bullshit.

I am only half willing to vote Fener because he could turn out to be Octavian. I am one alt among 20 or so with no real information. We know one team are talking off thread, the ones with the communication, we know one team are doing actions off thread, we know almost nothing of the Vord. To be fair I'm fucking bored with this game so far. Nothing seems to be happening, most people are not really making an effort on thread, maybe cause they have cool abilities or are doing all their talking off thread, or have multiple alts to manage and find that staying/laying low is the way forward.

I don't know and I don't really care at the moment. So here is what I know, Nimander is not Octavian, because Octavian attacked Nimander night one, so he may have spotted something in Nimander that made him think Vord. I have an ability that reduces Great fury counters but I can only use it once every 3 dawns. I have another ability that adds fortifications to each tile that holds a First Aleran Player. Octavian attacked me last night. That's about it, I think I could be a powerful player, I have a very high HP, good movement, good attack power, but my furies are locked at the moment. The Vord need to have 3 tiles infested before I become even more powerful than I currently am.

I just want to a see a CF.

There's been a lack of info at least partly because we've had zero CFs so far. That will surely change this week. And I kind of disagree with your people not making an effort on thread statement. There's a ton of us here, and in large games it's difficult for everyone to make a big impact, as quite often you just end up repeating something that's already been said if you're late arriving to the discussion. I think the contributions have been generally good, considering the little we've had to work with thus far (at least from my viewpoint anyway).

But what I want to know is - what's with all this revealing under no pressure? Just because you're feeling bored? Don't you think that kind of thing could hurt your team down the line? If you're telling the truth, way to make yourself a target for the Vord.

re: the revealing under no pressure - my guess is he's trying to get recruited. IGMEOH

I'm definitely (still) in favour of lynching Tiam for the knowledge/certainty.

I would also like to point out, however, that Fener yesterday was the only one I recall who claimed the mods confirmed his vote for the choice of furies to enhance. That, in addition to his cozy back-and-forth with Tiam has me suspicious that he is the master behind these new alts. ie if Tiam turns up Vord, I suspect Fener might be a queen gaining control of generic new vord alts and we should look that way next. I still want to vote Tiam today to verify that she is Vord, though, and see what other info the CF brings us.

IF I am right though, and the infested tiles can each generate new generic Vord, our best defense at the moment is to keep them bottled on the left by reinforcing Elinarch. I don't know how the blue line works with moving and attacking across in relation to the Vord, but it's at least worth a shot to keep Elinarch blocked as much as possible until we have any reason to defend somewhere else. Book-wise, the blue line there is an ocean so it'd make a lot of sense if attacks across it are not possible, which helps defend it even more.

Then again, in the books the Vord randomly showed up in Kalare somehow... so that might not be a permanent solution.

Wasn't Fener supposed to slow/cut down the infestation at Shuar? What happened with that then?

And what makes you think the Vord can regenerate? Have I missed something to do with that? I wouldn't want to not lynch Tiam just because of the suspicion that she might come back.

Not so much regenerate as just mass-spawn. The Vord are like zerg. Every place that they expand their creep "croach" they immediately start putting eggs/cocoon/thingies to feed off the land and spawn more vord. In the books, when only Shuar is left on the western continent it is enormously hopeless because the Vord are using all the rest of the continent to constantly spawn millions more Vord warriors every day to replace whatever numbers they are losing.

I highly, highly expect that winning this game will mean using our Attacks on the "generic" Vord to keep them whittled down while trying to lynch the queen(s).

I like this a lot. I have not read the books but this does make sense. We would have to find out where each spawn is. Do you think the Vord will get movement abilities?

That fits my wack-a-mole theory. Extra alts = vord spawn makes a lot of sense, and Tiam's gambit for time working the first time is bitter medicine.

I believe each spawn would be in the last infested tile.
I do not believe Tiam is vord though, there was no new tile infested when he spawned.
Unless, each infested tile spawns a vord every day?

Has someone done an update on current map and counter with analysis? I like Emurlahn doing it yesterday, has anyone got time to do it now?

I guess we'll find out soon enough. And it's pinging for me that both you and Fener have used the phrase wack-a-mole.

Maybe Fener inspired it, but I can't say I actually remember him using it. It seems the appropriate image for the theory at any rate.

By my count, 12 people have said (or as good as said) that they received no message from PS today. Which doesn't mean that they also all voted, but it's a safe guess that they did. And I would also assume that the people who've come on to say that they've received no message from PS are not the only ones who sent in votes to PS either. So this is (another) lie.

Clearly I'm an expert at disguising my cultural origins, given the linguistic variations on show here. I remember a lobster version too, however saying hit-a-plastic-lobster-with-a-rubber-hammer-as-it-emerges-from-a-hole is a bit less clear and a bit more time consuming to type.

What got you so chatty Alkend? Was no-one talking to Tiam so you felt like contributing yourself?

I might ask what's got you so defensive that you feel like immediately accusing me of something.

I am sorry guys. I am getting flooded at work. Hopefully I will be able to do a vote count and possible lynch in a little bit. Get any night orders in and I will start to settle night down and get it done also.

I'm guessing we lynched Tiam, based on Vengy's last post.
