For all I think PC gaming is great, I think you (and the PC gaming crowd generally), tend to gloss over one big advantage that consoles have, which is ease of use.
For the average person, consoles are much easier. I want to play a PS2, I buy up a PS2 and some games, I put the disc in, I play. I want to play a PC, I look at the games I want to play and try and optimize my purchase so that it balances being able to play what I want with a reasonable price, do a bunch of research on performance and setup, spend hours on google because for some inexplicable reason one of my games keeps crashing my PC (and oh shit, I need that for work), or won't run properly etc etc (and I don't believe that this hasn't happened to everyone who plays a decent amount on PC at least once).
It's getting easier, and it's one of the reasons I think steam is so successful, but they're still a bit behind.

Which is that one single pro even the Xbox One has over PCs at the moment. Though that being said, you can't really use an Xbox for word processing, browsing the net or even YouTube without a keyboard sucks ass, etc, etc. It is a case of ease of use versus versatility.
Again, however, this still actually doesn't equate to "buy an Xbox One". It equates to "buy a PS4". Because as at the present moment the PS4 still retains several advantages over the Xbox One and several pros over PCs. That being said, at the end of the day my PC doesn't crash nearly as much as you suggest, nor do I really have to worry about whether my laptop (yes, laptop) will run the latest games or not. It may not run them at FULL POWER TOTAL DESTRUCTION-levels, but hey, it still runs them above the settings the consoles run them at. *shrug*
But, as I said in my last post - I'm not really saying "buy a PC!!!" (I may *think* that, but it's definitely true that some people are computer challenged and therefore don't want to waste money on a good one, when all they'll be able to do on it is browse the web, etc), I'm saying that Xbox One is an atrocious abomination of a /game console/ which has stripped away its own advantages over PC (stable dev platform/"ease of use" (still maintain a controller is not a good input for text or movie controls) making it the worst console choice by default (except for a Wii U, but that's not really a contender here), so therefore you should buy a PS4. UNLESS of course they end up revealing that they've done the same thing. Then you really should buy a PC, unless it's particularly beyond you.
ETA: And why am I being lumped into the PC gaming crowd? I mainly game on my Xbox 360, dammit. (And no, that has nothing to do with my laptop not being capable of it, and everything to do with the fact that I only got my laptop a little over a year ago, where before that my previous laptop had an 11 inch screen, which is not conducive to gaming, so most of my games were for Xbox and I just continued with that trend. I still play things like Far Cry 3 on my laptop, for reference.)
ANYWAY.
Most of this discussion should really be in the Xbox One thread, because this thread is about E3! So let's get back to talking about E3 in here and talk about the stupidBox One over in the relevant thread?

Ok, to get us back on track:
Kalypso-published vampire action-RPG DARK will be playable @ E3. Looks like a cheap Bloodlines knockoff. But I hope Kalypso will she'd some light on what's happening with DemoniconH The Dark Eye, which is an action-RPG wannabe Witcher game where you play a necromancer, that was supposed to have a good choice and consequence system. That game made some waves at Gamescon 2011, but haven't been heard of since.

That can't be real? I could totally see people making that poster as a joke, and I thought I saw that Valve wasn't showing anything this E3.

Sounds like they're trying to make XBL less of a ripoff.
Also, Witcher 3 footage. Can't fucking wait for this game.

Titanfall looked pretty hot. Killer Instinct reboot is awesome.
BF4 was YELLLOW! BLUE! YELLOW! BLUE!

I started watching it a few minutes in. Just went back to check out the MGSV trailer. Looks fucking sick, plus it sounds like they're going to have a new "Snake Eater" type theme song for the game which is awesome.
Eli = Liquid?!?! He looks about right age-wise (10 or so), and wasn't it said in MGS1 that he was previously in Afghanistan?
Hearing Kiefer as Big Boss is going to take some getting used to, but from the tidbits I heard in the trailer it seems like it will work. He sounds worn down, just like Big Boss should.

'"Watch our live pre-recorded gameplay!"
Still, as someone who isn't big on FPSs, Battlefield 4 looks pretty fun.

Haven't had time to follow the live streams but just seeing the list of new announcements and trailers showing up on r/games is insane and E3 is only just starting.
Battlefront 3?! Killer Instinct?! I heard the rumours but this is exciting.
500 euro for an X-box? I did not think they'd try for so high a price. Will be interesting to see if Sony decides to undercut them. Hell, just 450 would mean a lot.

Microsoft conference: did I hear that clearly? Xbox gold members can download two free games per month (beginning July) until Xbox One launch (November?). Two of the games available are Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3? Does that mean 10 free games, in total, for gold members?!?!!?? Sweeeeeeeeeet! .... ok, what's the catch? #FinePrint

The catch: all the games are 3 or more years old (or so I'm guessing). Still pretty damn nice, though. It's about time XBL became more appealing.
Ugh, this is the first time I've bothered watching all of these conferences live. Terrible, cringe-worthy scripted "jokes" just make me facepalm.
I'm hoping the PS4 will have a single price point of $400.

@Defiance ahhh, thanks man!
Watching the beginning of the Metal Gear Solid 5 demo; I mistakenly thought I was watching the demo for the next "Red Dead" game.... which is a good thing.
- - - - - - -
Also, confirmed: Xbox One will be available November 2013 for 500 USD (aka $500). Just one option though? No watered down cheaper option? Or an "all bells and whistles, including everything and the kitchen sink" more expensive option?

Oh Microsoft, you should have whoever wrote that "Just let it happen, it'll be over soon' line, and whoever OK'd that script, thrown into a scorpion pit with all the other people responsible for your shitty PR decisions.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

That caught my attention too. I thought it was more organic then scripted (which says a lot about the individual who said those words). Only fringe comedians can get away with rape jokes, and even then there is social media hell to pay. #DanielTosh
