So I paid for this privilege whereby I can choose one of SE's poems and the talented Kit Soden and presumably his lovely partner will make a song out of it and put it on youtube. I thought it might be fun to share the burden of choosing the poem with you lot (read: make you do the work while I take the credit :(

I'm not entirely conversant with Mr. Soden's repertoire at the moment, which is of course the biggest problem. Would be embarrassing to choose something that's already been done.

Also, the original terms of the 'package' were to pick a few poems and then Mr. Soden would pick from those, which I don't fancy so I'd like to arrive at one and be assured I'm getting what I'm paying for.

So, please help :(

I always liked the 'Reaper's Gale' poem from, unsurprisingly, Reaper's Gale. I think it's Chapter 8 or thereabouts.

IIRC that's already been done in Kit's 'Like a Dancer Unstrung' album.

Now, I can think of a bunch of good poems mostly from DoD andd tCG, but since they seem to be the primary source for the new album, chances are good that they'll be part of it.

Any of the excerpts from Anomandaris (if it hasn't already been done) would be a good choice.

I could see some very interesting musical techniques and effects being used for great effect with Lay of Skinner.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Stone Bowl.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
