If you haven't already, you might want to check out Convict Conditioning. It's all about working with your own bodyweight and the author claims that the exercises may help injured joints(if that's the problem with your shoulder). I can't vouch for that because I had no injuries when I ditched my handweights and started this method, but I like the moves a great deal. They are pretty easy and start at the very beginning too. Actually, I'm nearly two months in and the results are already visible (arms and chest mainly).
Anyhow, it's just a suggestion, hope it helps you some.

When I was on deployment (first time) my best friend and I got into doing a lot of the convict conditioning workouts, just because we didn't have any weights or anything. I enjoyed the shit out of it and genuinely enjoyed the progress I made, and it coincided real well with training I was doing at the time for the human flagpole goal I had.

Never had the opportunity to accomplish that goal due to my shoulder issues, but I eventually moved on to just trying to get big in the gym. It came down to functionality vs aesthetics, and aesthetics won out :p I'm sure at some point I'll go back to trying out a lot of the CrossFit/Convict Conditioning stuff that I was into, but right now I've got other goals.

Thanks for bringing it up though, and I can join you in vouching for it as a great workout. If anyone is interested in trying it, there's a book you can buy but I've found a couple of compilations of some stuff from the book, one of them being here:

Thanks Hagop ^_^

Did you see a doctor? Bloodworks 'n all?
but are they worth preserving?

The pain isn't in the joint, it's in the backside shoulder muscle. I can't really do anything with it right now without it starting to mess with me.

I did go to the doctor two or three time, and did some quick bloodworks, but not the full set. I had a full day of work yesterday, and my cold hasn't gotten worse so I guess it's drawing to a close now. However my shoulder got all messed up again, but I gotta work so there's not much to do about it.

Sorry I haven't responded in a while, I've not been in a very good mood.

He lives! Is it muscular you think? Or does it feel deep inside of your shoulder? Does it feel better with stretching and ice? Or no change?

I'm pretty confident it's muscular, it's certainly not the joint. When I stretch it, it strains quite a bit more than when I stretch my left shoulder, but when the stretching is done there's no change at all. Most of the time, there is no actual pain, just the added straining feeling. When I use the muscle (at work, mostly pulling motions when scraping oil of wood, sandpapering and working the machines), it gets worse the day after.

I'm not quite sure what to do about this, the doctor said that it's probably just a strain and that it'll go away on it's own, but that was two months ago. Right now it mostly feels like a flashback to the beginnings of my wrist injury, which is now almost 4 years old and still kickin'.

I would highly recommend that you go get an MRI done. I'm no doctor but what you're describing is reminiscent of my shoulder injury (Tore the socket from multiple dislocations). It could be a minor tear, but it wouldn't hurt to go get an MRI done. Also try some acupuncture. That shit can work wonders.

How's your posture? Are you hunching, or have tendencies to cramp up your shoulders or so? Postural habits can really slow recovery of injuries, and if we move badly, can in itself cause injury. Also try and see a physiotherapist/osteopath, and what I recommend highly is Feldenkrais or Alexander Technique. It looks totally silly, but the effects are amazing. Both are rather non-intrusive methods of realigning the body, or learning how to move like children do, with minimal muscular effort. I ever so often need to get my hips/lower back realigned because my right leg is like 2mm shorter, which over time cramps up the ligaments, tissue and muscles around the lower back and hips. Ever since I;ve been taking Alexander lessons, it's much better, and I move with more ease, and Feldenkrais really helped with lower back pain. Think 4 months of lower back pain that was gone after 2 Feldenkrais treatments.

...also acupuncture. Can't recommend it enough!

Oh, wow, I thought it was only a few days since I last responded, but apparently it's been two weeks :p. Guess it's because that when I work, I get into this sort of trance. Get up, go to work, come home, watch a movie, go to bed. Sometimes I eat, too. Time just flies by.

And no, my posture is fine (except for when I was really ill, I hunched quite badly on my right side, couldn't keep my shoulder up well 'cause of the pain), I'm actually very mindful of it. I'll check in with my physiotherapist at the gym if she's in today, otherwise, next week.

Anyway, my shoulder feels better than it has in months (just a few days ago it was feeling pretty damn crappy) and the cough is all but gone. So this time I only wasted, what... 5-6 weeks on being sick? I'll deem that somewhat acceptable. I'm gonna go to the gym again today and do legs (worked all day so my shoulder is a bit tired, don't wanna push it by doing upper-body exercises on top of that the first day back).

I've also, somehow, kept up with taking those damn photos. I think that, so far, I've only missed a single day (may have missed one more when I was deleriously feverish). I'm very eager to get back to the gym properly as soon as possible.

I'll check back in with results of the first sessions!
