I never said that any particular mechanic is fair or unfair. But the word "fair" hardly belongs in a game that includes Roleless Discoer, pellet launcher, Shen Pai, etc alongside Hassan, Amon, Tyrant Steve, etc.

As for the mod puppet being able or unable to affect outcomes I think you're not giving D'rek enough credit on two fronts:

Planning: I suspect that the puppet is there in the first place as a tool of last resort to keep any one character from dominating the game from the beginning. As the game has progressed the need for that tool is less and less. Which is why we've seen less of it. Just my opinion.

Rules: From what I've seen, D'rek is very much a believer in the letter of the law as well as the spirit. Again, just my opinion, but I suspect that if the rules and mechanics some how worked to a resolution that allowed the Roleless Discoer to be crowned King of the Roman Senate with Tyrant Steve as a footrest, then that is what would have happened.

Step 2: Short-sighted government/science types create a weapon to combat the bad guys - a weapon hopelessly beyond their control.

Step 3: Weapon, predictably, breaks free from the illusion of control, runs amok in ways which make the citizens wish for the original bad guys to come back.

Step 4: Outcast hero-type with point to prove/seeking redemption comes along to save the day.

I'm thinking it might make more sense to take out Dejim before going after Sukul. You might want to give that a re-think. Somebody killed Korabas. I know it wasn't moi. TS says there is a second goodkinder out there. And TS swears that he didn't kill Korabas.

I haven't submitted my provisional yet. I could go for Galain you do Okral and Other goodkinder does Whoever. I'm pretty sure that there are healing catapults going off. So we'd need to get that person as well.
