Also, Hinter, I would be interested in the recipe for the caramalized sauce you served with the duck... Also, is that proper 'dirty' stilton not in order with EU regulations, or the easy cop-out that's now no longer allowed?
With respect to the duck bones - aren't they like all poultry hollow, therefore easy to break into sharp shards, and likely to hurt/maim/kill whichever animal chews them?

I know what you mean, I can't wait either. Come on D'rek! :p

Attempting to actually hunker down and play properly here...no CF means we most likely have a finder, right? I do wonder mightily what this 'hidden mechanic' is about though.

And frankly a Finder would be a bit underpowered in this game - no reveals, remember? It's a nice way to force everyone to actually work for the win without relying on revealfests, I think. And dropping the CF means we don't have any solid leads from the lynches either. Presumably there is some other mechanic that will substitute...

I have no proper reason to vote Silencer.

And nobody every has a proper reason to vote for me. :p Fuck you.

Spelling mistakes could be a reason.

As few reasons as you give us, the CF in around 50% of the game shows it is the good decision nonetheless  I wonder how your chances are now we won't get one.

I was headed to bed and I got a little panicky cause I forgot to keep up with the game thread this evening. Lo and behold, not much has happened. Mechanics pondering has been interesting, but Bubba telling us that there are no new mechanics throws a lot of that to the wind. So, I think that given the no CFs there HAS to be at least a finder, and the no reveals thing means he or she has to try to lead the game thread towards lynching the scum using their own cunning instead of hitting them over the head with reveals. Gonna be an interesting game, specially considering it is an altless. It is going to be difficult to put aside my vendettas to play properly, that's for sure.

Aren't you a bit new to have vendetta's? Back in the day, we used to build them over at the least 20 games or so, nursing grudges, trying to be a better man and let them go, until one realized there could be no forgiveness, only bloody retribution. Kids these days, sheez. Play two games, get lynched once, and they have a grudge.......... I mean, I hardly have any grudges, despite having seen exactly 71 games + mini's minus a handful of modded ones and a few skipped games.

Maybe I should just vote anyone who has them?

I'll post it in the wee small hours when I'm back at work on the night shift and the only one here. As for the criiters - I imagine they are smart enough to avoid death by bone shrapnel being hunter killer types. If not it's survival of the fittest, right?

Well then I think there are a few people who have given you many more "reasons" to lynch them, no? :p

Meta! Meta! Meta! /rage

(And to be fair, the CF in 50% of the games shows you it's NOT a good decision - it's the victory list for the times that you never got my CF that should worry you :p)

Silencer, you've been missed. My play style is loosely based on yours but with less caliber and definitely not as smooth ha.

As it is altless what are we looking out for? How will we have a good indication that we have caught scum?

Flattery will get you everywhere. Now stop symping me. :p

Frankly it will depend on a number of factors of which we have little knowledge (number of scum, knowledge that the scum team share, can they communicate, etc, what does the mystery mechanic do, so on and so forth) at this point. By now everyone except BoneCaster should have a good idea of what indicates a scum lynch - resistance to the train, the ability to link a player to a couple of others, their participation in previous lynches (though again, with no CF, this last one is less valuable than normal) and the behaviour of players we have PI'd and similar towards the lynchee.

Based on what the setup currently entails, we basically WON'T know if we've hit scum or just a scummy town player. As my many rants in the past have suggested, there is also the problem that "town play like scum" - there is no scum handbook, because the moment such a thing exists it becomes a "how not to play scum" handbook, lest it become a "how town catches scum" handbook. As Bubba no doubt intended, this game is going to have to be played on gut instinct and case building, and then we'll have to go from there (hidden mechanic notwithstanding).

Oh, and because it's altless, we do have the advantage of know each other and how they play a bit better than if people can hide behind alts. But that's really the only difference and is downright useless against, say, me. :p

Oh, and as per standard protocol for altless games, I will be playing without signing in anonymous, as I can see any player that is signed in anon as if they weren't, so this should level the playing field in that regard. And obviously I won't be mentioning whether a certain player is on or not.

A thought occurs - Bubba wanted 12 or 16 players? This must have something to do with the mechanic surely?

Edited to insert "players"

Sadly, I won't be around for the next nine hours or so. Because of the snow, I'm not working in the usual place today. And the place I'll be doesn't have wifi.

No. There'll still be time after that. I don't know what's going on enough yet to have come up with a reason to vote for anybody. Maybe one of you will say something really stupid or annoying by then. I'd appreciate it! I'll probably check back in in about a half-hour, then I'm gone.
