The only way I can win with the interceptor is if I have the cannons, and hit you in the first go, which would include a very lucky roll. Would you be honest if I sunk your cruiser? I know you would but the chances are very slim. I could use improved hull and computer but that would only enable one hit. I need more damage than that.

Didn't CF provisionally pass as well? I'm pretty sure that he will if he didn't officially state that as he will run out of money otherwise.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

2 interceptors from Beta sextantis to IH's homeworld.
I don't want to take any chances. It's pretty frickin important we win that system. You don't have the best chance of killing him in the opening salvo with missiles, and if he rolls anything but 1 on the opening ion cannon round, all your ships die.
You totally sure you can't afford to upgrade to gain initiative? I can always influence the system after the battle if yer worried about that...it goes to our combined VP total regardless and I could use the extra production for next round (though I'm sure you could too)

Twelve! CF is planning betrayal, trying to disguise it as, 'oh, it's like I'm just doing you a favour see?'!
Well then he will feel my full rath. I'm pretty sure we all know who will win that one if he ever chooses to betray me.
IH, D'rek Have you ever seen a more kick ass army than the one that I have been able to field this game? I'm afraid I won't ever be able to duplicate what I have been able to do this game.
Yes.
Seriously? I'm not sure what more I can do to make it even better. Please at least tell me that person won right?
Most of the time, but not all of the time. In pre-expansion, I've seen missile dreads with high initiative laying waste to entire fleets before they can fire a shot, since the expansion missiles have been less popular, but zero-point source dreads with antimatter cannons have been deadly. I've lost with a fleet similar to yours because the entire galaxy has turned against me.

Oh yeah. Big time. I'm thinking of a 4-player game, where one player had some very, very good hex draws. I think they were mechanema, but might've been terran. The galaxy ended up somewhat shaped like a bunch of corridors, and they had one huge fleet that they just moved forward one hex each round, spending 3 or 4 move actions and maybe one research or so. The fleet had crappy drives, but everything else. I think the dreadnaughts and interceptors had antimatter cannons (2 per dread) and the cruisers had plasma missiles. Everything had gluon computers and the dreads had improved hulls and flux shield. Tachyon or hypergrid sources on everything, of course. When he reached the GCDS, which was connected beyond the corridor pattern he'd been following, he just plopped down 4 starbases and kept on going, and no one could get past them.

Shit I just realized that Tat's is going bankrupt and I will be stuck with his Dip card? Or will I since he used bankruptcy to lose? I know we argued about this last game and people were divided but Tapper was eliminated via conquest not self bankruptcy. I think I'm stuck with it aren't I?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Hahaha, sorry Tatts, I just ran the numbers on the different permutations of what you could do with that interceptor, and the best percentage it could come up with was:
1%
1%
"I think I've made a terrible error of judgement."

That was what I was afraid of earlier in the game that is why I chose to side with CF instead of destroying him. And way back when I bought the missles I was planning on getting the zero point source, antimatter cannons and tachyon drive that round. I would probably not have taken the center as I didn't have the hull to withstand the Ancient Dreadnaught but in hindsight I think it would have been the better choice as I've had to do a lot of mixed use weapons because of the counter tech out there.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'll take the one percent
upgrade interceptor with source and anti matter cannon in empty slot.
I need to roll a 6. I do and that would be epic!!!!!

Oh true she doesn't have missiles on her cruisers, thought she did for some reason. I think all of CF's discussions on her missiles probably. Actually on the reaction thing, d'rek i'm presuming you don't want a dread to help you out with CF, I thought you had missiles on your cruiser for some reason and so would need any help.

Your choice. I certainly wouldn't be against it, but OTOH I won't be horribly sad if I lose that hex. If you want to and can afford it, go for it.
