After my latest Move, you have 3 discs left in your influence track. Each one can be used either to make a Move Reaction (one activation of a ship), an Upgrade Reaction (remove unlimited ship parts and then add one ship part) or Build Reaction (build a single thing).


So I can say this go upgrade the interceptor once, then next go upgrade again, then next go move my dread?


You can upgrade your interceptor once, then next go upgrade it again, but you still can't move your dread because it is pinned.

Just in case you weren't joking... cubes are removed with discs when you Influence or go bankrupt. (They are moved to the graveyards if they are killed in combat)

I have 2 ships in Psi Capricornii, pinning both your 2 ships. You need more ships than there are enemy ships in order to move one out.

What about this? You can't outgun her, so try and outlast her. Two improved hulls and an antimatter cannon, over ion cannon, drive (you're not going anywhere anyway), and in that other spot which isn't your source.

You only get one upgrade as a reaction. So you have to do two reactions to get the same result.

Tats. you are hosed. Your only hope is for CF to move ships in to engage D'rek as he doesn't have neutron bombs and might miss destroying your population cubes. Though at this point you probably have irrevocabley bankrupt yourself and your game will truly be over and the only hope you have is to take as many of D'rek's ships down with you as you can.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

You can upgrade your interceptor once, then next go upgrade it again, but you still can't move your dread because it is pinned.

D'rek has two ships in PSI Capricorni so both of your cruiser and Dread are pinned.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Unless like D'rek you have the Cloaking Tech where you need more ships to do the same thing.

Ah shit Twelve, I guess you'll make it up anyway with new territory.

I was going to move my interceptors to support you in IH's home system, which almost certainly would have meant a win even with a pass on your part. Given that I have 1 more move and that it's likely a bad idea for me to have to de-influence anything, where do you want those interceptors? Knowing that D.Corvi is a much more certain bet now, I could plop them both there to ensure a lock + influence on that hex, meaning we control the other viable WH access point to our back door.

OOOh...or I can send ships to beta Centauri to ensure a win there...and IH will be forced to scrap nu phonecis anyway just to pay his upkeep...unless he's thinking of pulling a tattersail and going for broke.

Either way, I see it going around the board maybe 1 more time, so maybe future reactions by the other players are moot.



Man, I didn't count on D'rek abandoning her ally this badly. She could have easily turned that tide with cruisers + missiles in IH's home system.

You have 3 reactions available, but only probably 1 more time around the board (at best). Max damage to d'rek will be making sure she can't influence your home system at the end of the round.

Also, looking at the latest board update, didn't Tattersail move that dread to the home system?

I thought it was only the source which is a requirement. No drive just leaves your ship dead in the water but still functioning.

Yeah, like I said I wasn't thrilled about having to give up territories to pay for acctions but if I can eliminate territitories from others and not lose ships I'll consider it a win. I'm going to upgrade both my Dread and cruiser with another computer to regain the initivie advantage. That also will give me +6 bonus on my rolls so anything other than a 1 and I will land a hit. So even if IH reacts and sends a Dread to help in the fight I have a very good chance of still destroying both his Dread and Starbase but having just one of your interceptors in Mu Arae would be welcome.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

No all ships other than starbases have to also have a drive while starbases are not allowed to have a drive. Thems the rules.

Yeah, I just checked. It's the other way round, drive is required, but not source (though you need that to have guns! :p). I think that's silly.

Hey, perhaps you can upgrade all tiles to drives and hulls, then ram her at super-speed? B)
