I don't have any VP for technologies (yet) I have 3, 3 and 2 on the board. If they were all on the same row then I'd have like 5 but they are all spreadout. I think you meant to put the technology points on Tattersails board instead as I didn't see any points for Tech under his.


You're right, that should've been in the tattersail column of my spreadsheet.

I think you only get the points for discarded reputation tiles not the ones you keep for VP.

Twelve is right - you get 2 VP if you kept it as 2VP, or you get 1 VP if you used it (ie: took a +5 science or placed a ship part) (except for the ancient orbital or warp portal). So you have 3x2 VP for the ones you kept as 2VP in the Discoveries column, and another 1 VP from your Hypergrid Source, which you used.

Yeah but on the plus side (for me) there are two neutron bombs as well. I'm not so concerened with Khell getting the jump drive as he is the player with the wormhole generator anyway nor am I too concerened with flux missles as my Dreads have the best inititive on the board right now and I have the tech to keep it so. The Point defence is the one that could be problematic for me though. I see you grabbing that IH and making life a bit tough for me.

Maybe I should just grab some antimatter cannons to cover all my bases.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Hmm...what do you think about a plan to pick up neutron bombs and fly my interceptors around the board doing economic damage - especially in the eastern Alliance territories. 1 ship to destroy all pop cubes in 1 fell swoop?

Could do the same through the warp portal into Northern alliance territory technically.

When both of you start talking about nuking the rest of us... well it's a no brainer to spend 2 science to try and prevent it. Especially with Twelve being all plasma missiles and gluon computers - missiles being unable to target populations is like his only weakness!

And it's a cheap science point.

And it boosts my discounts for future tech.

What havoc shall we wreak this round good buddy? We can continue to run rampant in EM's undefended sectors or take a breather round to bolster border defenses. I can see how "running rampant" isn't really encouraged by the setup of the game because you very quickly stretch yourself too thin to be effective.


with our relatively narrow borders we could probably turtle and win on research & other minor victory point stuff. I mean, the GC is sure to be contested eventually, but with your glass-cannon dreadnoughts/interceptors and my high initiative interceptors to back them up with 2 damage ion canons, whoever tries is going to feel the hurt in a big way.

I'm not sure what we should do this round. My previous plan that I had in mind might not be such a good idea now. I'll have to see how things play out the first round.

Oh and twelve, where are you placing the muon source on your dread? You can't cover a power source with it as your ship then won't have enough power, so are you placing it over your ion cannon? Or over a missile? I was very confused when I saw your dread seemed to have an extra part.

Well this is seriously crappy. I'm going to have to totaly rethink this round. What with IH grabbing the Point Defense, talk about a no brainer, and D'rek and Tats grabbing the neutron bombs. It may be a while before I make my move....

The Muon source goes outside the ship blueprint. That is why I placed it on the dread.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
