I could even create 3 cruisers with anti matter cannons. More fire power.

what were you thinking of picking up Twelve?
I can go a few ways, so no worries. Grab what you want.
For now I 'm going to pick up phase shield I think....for no other reason than to cheapen my next research by 2 science and nab an extra victory point.
After that, antimatter cannon is gone, which nixes plan A. Possibly then the tachyon drive component if nobody takes it by next round for more mobile cruisers, or Quantum Grid (just to get it first even though it exhausts most of my reserves) since our ability to out-action the other players seems to be working so much in our favour. Also, picking up Quantum grid negates the fact that I have to convert a bunch of money to science with the upkeep it restores.
Other than that I'll be upgrading cruisers and building. Then our BIG MOVE.......DUN DUN DUUUUNNNNNN.

Quantum Grid is good but I don't have the science for it yet, it'll probably be taken by the time I make a move for it, there are two so I'm talking about the one after you take it CF.

we should be careful with any plans to strike out east. I just realized Khell has like a zillion materials and enough actions to seriously ruin our day if we decide to try for his ally...diplomatic relations be damned.
although his ally has already offered to intentionally break their alliance so as not to bog them both down if he's still behind at the end of this turn. If khell is as ruthless and power hungry as they say in the intergalactic rumor mill, maybe he'll exploit that to his advantage and cut EM loose!
Or maybe he's planning a major build-and-move up north to put the squeeze on the point leaders. Not sure. He's a random variable in my plans for sure.

Khell I wrote a post describing you like Kaladin. I forgot to post it whilst replying to a PM. It is gone forever.

Is that Aladin's evil brother?
Like the one that deceives the princess Jasmine, but when she discovers his ruse, instead of freeing the genie whilst earning her love the hard way....he says "bitch I don't need you! I just wished for a zillion dollars and threw this useless oil lamp in the Red Sea!"

CF I was seriously joansin last night wanting to fight someone (In game context only). If we don't put the hurt on a number of hexes this round I'm going to seriously combust from all the pent up aggression. I say we pick someone and go balls to the wall reduce them to rubble and ash mode. I can't upgrade a whole lot more than I have already and I have actions to burn. Should we go left, right or across?
I spent awhile looking at the map last night and unless somebody does a serious commit to take the center, they're not going to budge us....plus D'rek and IH seem happy to continue defending while whittling away at tattersail for the extra VPs here and there. Why he isn't sticking up for himself? I have no idea, but it doesn't matter.
If I had stayed in Vega I would have won against just her orbital but more than likely she would have drew in a cruiser to destroy me. If I had attacked the ancient she would have hopped on and destroyed me first. So by pulling back I have a dread this round that is going to get SUPED up. Anti Matter Cannon, Extra computer, Fusion drive and Zero Point Source. Then I can purchase another one of those beasts and compliment it with a cruiser or a couple of starbases upgraded. I am going to attack Vega. She has 13 materials or something which means she can only purchase two cruisers so I think I can really hurt her this round.
Quote
The least lossy options to nab VPs are at the expense of our militarily weaker neighbours, probably Tats most of all, but that puts us in a race with the point leaders more or less.
Medium lossy option is going east, where we will have more ships to contend with and a harder road to the valuable sectors (like EM's homeworld).
More lossy option is to contend with IH directly to remove VPs from their systems and knocking them down as point leaders. We could hope Khell takes advantage of the distraction to perforate IH's borders as well. Those guys could easily swing into 2nd (or 1st) place by nabbing a few undefended worlds to the north.
Not sure where a back-door attack ranks on that scale. If executed this turn we could establish a solid presence in IH's back-territories and at the very least force him to shift gears from frontal GC assault to backdoor defense. I might even be able to sweep in first and clear D'rek from the sector so you can come in risk-free next turn. In fact, I like that plan a lot.
=============================
I put in no provisional move. I really want to see what folks do the first time around the board before I commit to anything. I'll likely nab some tech this round and I'll need an upgrade + a build action at some point, but I should be good for at least 2 move actions (ie 4 ships).
D'rek and IH are the leaders at the moment, you are not going to want to attack IH where his Starbases are so you'll have to draw him to you if you want to lay hurt on him. Best way to do that would be to attack D'rek. She isn't strong and by doing that You may draw IH's Ire.
Maybe not commit a full battalion because you have Khell and EM to worry about.
I don't know where I stand, I am going to try and research next round and bunk up my VP's. I have never been a threat to you, Twelve showed good will early on, so I have actually been keeping D'rek busy most of the game. Sure she has owned me mostly but things will change with these cannons.
RE your assessment, we only have 2 rounds left after this one so if you're going to make combat moves and position yourself for maximum VP grab in the final round (if indeed you're going to do it by combat) I think it's now or never. There are never enough actions for a massive millitary deployment spanning more than 1 or 2 hexes. Your plan to go for d'rek seems sound, depending on what she does to upgrade and bolster her forces this turn. Remember what she can/can't move in via warp portals and what resources IH might be able to bring to bear, considering he has a very solid defense against us at his front doorstep. I can't speak for twelve, but probably a foray into your territories spreads us too thin given the low potential for VP gain.
Probably our best bet(s) are to continue knocking down the point leaders by whatever means we have at our disposal rather than wasting influence and resources on the militarily weaker opponents. If his blueprints were altered a bit, twelve and I could make a solid fight north of the GC. Saving some resources for defense against whatever Khell has up his sleeve probably isn't a bad idea either.

I love how balanced this game is. Despite twelves clear resource and tech lead over everybody from very early on, the game is still very finely balanced as we move into the last third.
Currently I rate chances of victory as:
Twelve/Cf
Khell (if EM ends the alliance with him)
Me and D'rek
Though Tats and EM are definite wildcards in this!

A character out of the way of kings. No spoilers though cause D'rek would not appreciate that..
