So D'rek are you wanting to form an Alliance any time soon?

Oh crap. I don't know Tats, I think you might as well pack it all in now, because there is no way you're going to be able to catch up by the time you get them again. You can try keeping a log of some sort on your computer, but it won't give you the same feel for the game.
But at least you won't notice how far your handwriting has deteriorated, unlike myself.

D'rek I am going to bed now, is there anything you'll be needing from me? I know what my next turn is going to be so should I leave that?

I have no idea - too busy manually colouring tiny little cube graphics to even really be thinking about the game yet, I just explored cause that is the thing that you do. But yeah I'm sure if we end up connecting I'll be open to diplomatic relations and after that we can start talking alliances. 7 is such a weird number for this too when it comes to alliances - could end up with a 3 and a 3, with 1 person all alone (I think... can't remember if alliances can be 3 people in 7p)

Alliances can be made up of 3 people, I believe.
Edit: Yep, checked. 6+ players and you can have alliances made up of 3 factions.

IH is probably in bed already too so I don't see much going on until tomorrow anyway.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I will explore south. I'm still awake!
Assume I'm going to colonise, and I want connections towards the centre and khell in that priority order. Don't put cubes on any planets.

You know what, I've decided NOT to approach this game like mafia, so I'm going to lay all my cards on the table right now.
Instead of a super-turtle method, I'm hoping to form a super alliance.
IH, EM, I propose we establish a 3-way alliance as soon as possible. Basically, I want you two to protect me from those malcontents on the other side of the board (and also not attack me yourselves). In return, I will not actively seek to expand toward the centre (not beyond Tier II in any case), Tier I is all yours. I want only enough hexes as necessary to set up all my Shrines. And, as part of our alliance, you would share those Victory Points from the Shrines with me. Of course, I might not find enough planets to do that in Tier III, so there may be some necessary expansion into Tier II, but hopefully not much.
What do you say?

EM Don't trust Khell. He'll quietly go about being super turtle and in round 8 he will dump you and IH like a hot potato and be too build up defensively for you to do anything about it. Crush him under your boots now before it's too late.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

You drew Hex 209:

so I'll flip the above pic 360 degrees - let me know if you want something else.
Also, you say don't put cubes down, but I'm assuming you're saving that for the end of the round and you still want to put an influence disc down?

I somewhat agree with twelve, Khell, in that I don't think EM, being Orion is going to trust you far enough given his military superiority. Especially if he feels he can attack you and get a bunch of your hexes, like your homeworld, the points from which would offset him getting the minus traitor points. Plus if he does go through with it, he will probably be going for the center since he is Orion, meaning people have to go through him to get to you - basically you getting a free ride from his defenses. Good for you, but bad for him to some extent, so I'm not sure you'll find him very willing.
On the other hand, your wormhole positioning is very good for denying EM a connection with you - simply explore south and direct wormholes southeast away from the hex right above him. You could probably put a very good wall up there, and he'd be forced to keep some forces around in case you ever use your easy wormhole generators to sneak attack him. If you want to go that route, I'd be open to an alliance between us two and IH where we use walls south of me and you to funnel the other players into one big defense post (or into each other) in the center that we can combine our ships at. Plus, me and IH both have species bonus points, so it shouldn't end up in a case of you having tons of shrine points and one of the other two players or both not being able to match and bringing down the average.

Boo counter alliance proposal. I personally like being a lone wolf but if the new aliens align I think some of the old guard should think about forming a counter alliance based on military superiority and splat them under the might of our cannons.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

D'rek,I thought you were going to give us the name of the hex as well when you drew the tiles. I am curious as to the names if you don't mind.
