Page Count On Kindle Version

Just downloaded HoC from Amazon. The book only seems to have around 670 pages despite Wiki saying it should have over 1,000. 670 is what it says on Amazon and is confirmed when I check on my Kindle. I have flicked through the book and all the chapters seem to be there. However, I'm concerned there may be sections missing and perhaps nobody at Amazon has noticed.
Has anybody else got HoC on their Kindle ? Is this page count of 670 indeed correct ?

As far as I'm aware, the Amazon count of 670 is based on using the preset font size on the Kindle, the one it's already on when you first switch it on. This is not the same as the font size on a regular edition paperback publication.
Unless anyone knows differently?

Strange thing is I also previously got Memories of Ice via Amazon and the page counts were as expected i.e. around 1180. I'm sure it must be correct. Just seems a huge discrepancy, even allowing for font sizes.

You're right it is. Short of going through it page by page to count and compare I guess we have to take their word for it

I am going to contact Amazon tonight to get them to confirm their Kindle download is correct. I will let the forum know what they say.

Yep, think you are right. Went onto the the publishers website and found the page for HoC:
http://www.randomhou...4/9780553813135
From here you can look at the first 130 or so pages of an ebook. What I noticed is that the pages on the publishers ebook (which is basically a scanned in copy of the actual paperback) has very short lines thus meaning more pages. For example:
* Chapter one (Random House ebook) - Covers pages 31 to 79 i.e. 49 pages
* Chapter one (Kindle) - Covers pages 27 to 56 i.e. 30 pages
19 page difference over one chapter. Factor this throughout the book and it's easy to see why the kindle is 300 pages shorter.
Glad I worked that out. Didn't want to miss anything !!

Heh. I use kindle app on iPad. No page count, only 'location'.
But you solved your problem and don't need help.
So happy new year.
