In terms of Galain, I think we have a Tyrant Steve situation going on. We know who the bad guy is, and he is spreading confusion and misinformation. We pretty much have to disregard anything that he says, because we can't trust what is fact and what is fiction.

Heh. The freezes did affect the game negatively, but you're still getting some good TMD fun.

Sorry if you were waiting on my response, it never ocurred to me that I would still have Diplomacy. I guess I've been a bit slack recently. Sorry :D

Also, for now, use NA Air Bending

Just so you're aware, if you were to use Diplomacy, it will affect members of Team Avatar, not Republic City. I.E. you will stop all actions by and targetting members of Team Avatar.

I've lost track of Fener's fire bending cool down. And which set of bending did Tatts get back? Pre independent or post?

Fener's Fire Bending will be available tonight. Tatts gets post indie abilities back.

So ekewes are toast come night?

It's looking like that. Karosis will likely still be alive, but it looks like Spite's gonna get lynched, and Galain's got two NKs targetting him at the moment, so it'll be interesting to see how things go if they both die.

Forgot about Desperation though. Spite's at L-1 at the moment. If Drek gets online before someone hammers, he could potentially redirect the lynch, and I think she'll redirect at Osseric, which would make for very interesting end-game. It would put Equalists at 2 members, Galain would become independent, and things would just get interesting from there.

Ah, ok, so removing Korra's bendings to prevent her from decoding recruits is not likely going to be possible judging from the mythos.

I guess I just focus on regular recruits some more, then, and hope the double-decode was a one-time thing.

Targets: Tennes and Emurlahn

He's going after Tennes again!!! He has already failed to recruit him TWICE, and Tennes has said on thread that he's not a bender, so why the hell would he actually target a non-bender with REMOVE BENDING?

Emurlahn, on 09 January 2013 - 07:03 PM, said:

provisional :D now to wind Galain up so that he targets me :p

I hope the above includes a recruiter action. I think I've done well to provoke him into trying to recruit me again. If he does then he gets blocked and we go from there

Your Super Seismic Sense ability was triggered. Galain targeted you with Remove Bending.

Ampelas

Your bending abilities have been returned to you.
You have been recruited by Team Avatar.

Your new Victory Conditions are as follows:

All members of the Equalist organization must die.

Avatar Korra was tired of being afraid. General Iroh had brought his fleet of fire nation ships to Republic City in hopes that he would be able to break the iron grip that Amon had on its citizens. Unfortunately, Amon was ready for this eventuality. The bay was filled with underwater mines. These, combined with Amon’s airplanes quickly ruined General Iroh’s fleet. Korra, however, was lucky enough to pull the General out from the wreckage alive.

That was before she had unlocked her full potential. Now that she had learned to reverse Amon’s bending removal, the tables had finally turned. Republic City had been living under the pall of Amon’s tyranny for days, but no more. She, Asami Sato, Tenzin and General Iroh planned a sneak attack on Amon and his troupes. Tenzin dropped in from the air, but the Lieutenant was too quick for him and left him injured. While they were fighting, however, Asami drove in, the tires of her sato-mobile squealing as she ground to a halt in front of him. She jumped out of the vehicle and used her Electrified Glove to incapacitate Amon. Korra and General Iroh both let loose with their fire bending. Amon was killed! Korra turned to Captain Saikhan, who had been idly standing by, and pushed her thumb to the centre of his forehead, returning his bending abilities to him.

The tables have turned, for the first time in days, it seems that the benders of Republic City are in control. All that is left is to mop up what is left of the Equalist forces.

Galain is dead. He was Amon, a member of the Equalists, and D’rek.

Members of the Republic City Faction who did not have additional Victory Conditions will be considered as having achieved Victory. As Team Avatar or the Equalists have not met their VCs, the game will continue.

It is now Day 9. 18 hours remaining.

8 Players still alive: Ampelas, Emurlahn, Fener, Karosis, Kaschan, Osseric, Spite, Tennes

5 votes to lynch, 4 votes to go to night.

Players not voted: Ampelas, Emurlahn, Fener, Karosis, Kaschan, Osseric, Spite, Tennes

With Amon Dead and Spite almost a sure fire lynch shouldn't you just call it already unless there are players on team Equalist that can night kill? With all the finder abiliites out there it's a foregone conclusion that all of the equalists will be found and quickly killed.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Eh, I figure they'll speed lynch anyway. You're right, probably, but I didn't want to call it until it was done.

Finally! Sheesh!

Initial impressions, knowing nothing of the total setup - the scenes all but telling everyone exactly who was recruited would have killed scum no matter what happened on the first few days. In cult games, even more so than regular scum games, scum is supposed to be informed and town is not. Felt like this was a total reversal of that, but maybe that is just how it felt.

Off to read spoilers and see.

The idea was to sort of flip what people expected from a Town and a Scum faction on its head. I made Scum, and Amon particularly, extremely difficult to permanently kill specifically so that they would have to work to use the lynch as their main weapon. The incapacitates should have made it possible, but half of the scum team gave themselves away on Day 1, so it became more difficult for you. It was really unfortunate that they picked up on you right away, because if they hadn't, the game would likely have been very different. And even WITH that you did a pretty good job, and almost had them anyway.

Also, my scenes never gave anyone's alt name. It was just character names, so it was up to people to figure out which character was in which alt. Sure, that ended up being easier than expected given the crazy reveal fests that happened, but it wouldn't necessarily have been so if those hadn't happened.

Oh right, first bend removal wasn't a recruit so Baudin didn't betray me. I'm confused that "You will be told the ability name and target of someone’s action and be given the chance to provide an alternate target." from Bolin's PM means he gets my entirelist of abilities though, not just the ability he is redirecting?

First of all, reflections occur at angles other than perpendicular so even by your supposed dictionary definitions a reflect could still bounce off a surface away from its source :D And secondly, we've had previous mafia games where "Reflect" abilities could bounce things aimed by A at B onto C. Not that you're required to explain anything you don't want to, whether it's in the OP or not, but I maintain my question was still a valid concern!

I am kind of sick of D'rek just resorting to bashing my game. Granted it's my first complex game, but I think I did a good job with it. Maybe Team Avatar had a lot more info than the Equalists, but the Equalists had all kinds of NK and Lynch protection amongst their top three players. It really was bad luck that Team Avatar found Drek right away, but I think if they hadn't, then this would have been a completely different game. I understand that it can be frustrating, but blowing up on thread about what you're assuming are game mechanics, when you really have no idea, is just really juvenile, IMO.

You can't really listen/judge from the game thread on that sort of thing. Maybe me more than most, but anyone talking about the game setup on-thread is going to try lie and spin to make themselves look like less of a threat. You should really only judge such things based on PMs or SH comments.

Yes, I realized that after I had posted the comment and Venge et al showed me the error of my ways. As I said somewhere else up thread, I think I should have waited until New Year to start the game, the freezes made everyone lose interest, which was frustrating to watch, and when you started bashing the game on thread, I just took it the wrong way.

I now realize that this game would have been balls if you hadn't been in it. You were easily my favourite player to watch when you were really going at it.

Bah, semantics! I was probably a little too into my RPG video game mindset, where a reflect means it gets sent back directly at you.

Wow.... You're right, this was a blatant mistake on my part, and this is the first time I (or anyone) even noticed it. I'm sorry! In my head, when I was resolving, it was a control ability, so I just equated it to Amon's or Tarrlok's blood bending abilities.

I succeeded in removing Osseric's bendies on night 5 but couldn't recruit her - there didn't seem to be much point in doing it again, knowing that she couldn't be recruited, and it seemed that once she had the energybends or communal spirit or whatever that she had her bendies back and couldn't lose them again.

Ah, okay. I don't think it would've made much difference, as getting the remove bending ability text alone would still have pegged me as Amon pretty easily. Mod mistakes happen, I'm hardly unfamiliar with those times. But as a warning, make sure you don't ever do it to Illy - he can hold a grudge...
