This may not fit every listeners musical inclinations, but we can all agree and delight on a most worthy inspiration that is the Malazan world.

This is amazing!!! Just finished listening to City of Azure Fire. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a band to release an album dedicated to Malazan, especially within the realm of metal.

I found this while surfing around youtube, and thought it was pretty darn good:

Another cool thing is that the band members use the nicknames Shield Anvil and Mortal Sword.

Here are 2 more Malazan themed metal songs.

Thrilled to be listening to this, I ALWAYS wanted a band to play malazan themed songs. Nothing can get more metal than Malazan.

Not just something for Malazan fans, just had this sent to me by a friend who's got nothing to do with Malazan with a comment somewhere along the lines of 'Holy everything, this is amazing!'

Which it is, it's great!

I think my eyes fell out and my ears off while listening to/reading the text of To Walk the Ashes of Dead Empires, so good is it.

I just downloaded Caladan Brood. Epic metal. The lyrics are very good.

Caladan Brood was okei, but nothing beats Summoning in that genre.

Enjoy the music, just can't stand the vocal style. That's always been a turnoff for me with Black Metal and the various other subgenres in that group.

Flipping heck, finally listening to the album all the way through. Pretty darn epic!! Really liking the atmosphere. Not normally the biggest fan of black metal but this has hints of Enslaved and they are one of my all time favourite bands! Seriously good...

Just want to say that I picked up the Malazan series JUST from listening to the Caladan Brood album.

That alone might make this the greatest album I have ever listened to :p

Oy, finally found a thread about the Caladan Brood album! Posted Image Required a few listens to submerge into the atmosphere, but I think I have fallen in love with it (so, Summoning has clearly served as a source of inspiration, yet in a positive way). Had the song "A Voice Born of Stone and Dust" playing on ipod while climbing up a hill to visit some Neolithic tumuli, and now cannot mentally unlink these two matters. Posted Image

Summoning is great, but I think Caladan Brood is just as good. There is more dynamism in CB's songwriting with all the tempo changes.

My stepson is extremely into you guys. He hasn't read the books, but got into you because he's into various kinds of metal. He started telling me about you, so I told him what it was about.

Metal music is a fine way to begin to immerse into the Malazan atmosphere, as the books are like textual epic metal.
