The Wonder Years was awesome -- and reminds me of a time when Neil Patrick Harris was totally unavailable, in Doogie Howser, M.D. which I loved.

There are a couple of cult Chris Morris shows which I have the DVDs of: The Day Today and Brasseye. Still epically awesome and hilarious, especially Brasseye's paedophilia special  And a quick mention of KYTV, which I loved.

I have never watched Doogie Howser. I keep thinking that I should. Another good one was Dinosaurs, although I'm not sure how well it has aged since I haven't seen an episode since they aired.

What was that Aussie teen soap, with Alex Dimitriades? *Googles* Heartbreak High! That was an awesome show.

Two more shows I maybe shouldn't admit to thinking were classics:

Clarissa Explains It All.

And the superior Melissa Joan Hart series, Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Whoa, you paid for Small Wonder on DVD? You are a rare specimen indeed.

Some of those corny 80s family sitcoms hold up surprisingly well. Although, the male chauvinism sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm still hoping for a DVD release of Out Of This World, starring Maureen Flannigan as a half-alien teenager who could freeze time when she touched her index fingers together.

The older guy who starred in that was Doug McClure, who was the influence for Troy McClure on Simpsons. I used to love the crap out of it. It was horrible. Does anyone remember "They Came From Outer Space?"

Here is a link: here is the link I like all the sex references. It came on at like 1:30 pm on saturdays, i think. right after cartoons.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

I loved Out Of This World! The theme song was Swinging On A Star -- great song! And yeah, I only ever knew Troy McClure from the Simpsons from that show, though I've seen Doug McClure on a few other things since then.

That bit of Simpsons trivia is interesting. I hadn't heard that one.

No, I don't remember "They Came From Outer Space?" Judging by the video clip, I'm glad of that.

As long as we're on the subject of retro Saturday morning television, my holy grail of DVD releases would have to be the ABC Weekend Special. My childhood in a time capsule... The Secret World of Og, The Dog Days of Arthur Cane, The Amazing Bunjee Venture, etc. etc. Unfortunately, rights to the individual episodes are owned by multiple studios, so the "how would we divvy up the profits?" legal question will probably kill this dream.

Holy crap, I do remember that. Largely because the longish haired guy in it was also a staple of the godawful movies they'd show on USA Up All Night....the kind of stuff where he'd be a ski instructor to various 80s-style babes, or a beach bum, or a guy who worked at a hotel pool during spring break season.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I totally remember that. THat guy was always at the center of some mischief.

One of the greatest movies ever was witnessed by myself and my brothers onUSA Up All Night. It was called Getting Lucky. If you love campy bad shit, anywhere near as much as me, try to get your hands on that. Its a classic of horribvle trash crap.

I might have actually seen that, once upon a time. But it's funny you should bring that up, because there's a somewhat similar movie starring the very same guy from They Came From Outer Space, called Miracle Beach, but instead of a leprechaun it's a genie (played by Ami Dolenz).

Also, the girl from Getting Lucky looks like a cross between Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart. But the acting chops of only one of them, I'll let you guess which.

Check this out.

Same writer.

Sledge Hammer crossed with Tarantino.
