Game Thread: Tales of the Desert 1.0 The Crossroads of Ishktar

With the anticipated arrival of the Golden Standard's armies, a shaman of a local horse tribe raised a war standard, making the call for his tribe to gather and match their steel against the Khanates. Within weeks, thirty thousand warriors had gathered, and more were coming. Each of them received a blessing, and a religious fervor woke in the army. When two more tribes allied themselves and declared that their pantheon would join the struggle, all hell broke lose. The Nepeth told me they'd happily solve the issue - in exchange for loosening my laws when it came to them. The House of Iron forwarded a contract price. The Golden Standard sent me two gilded skulls, as a show of intent. In the meantime, the craze that spread through the tribes increased, and for a few short months, the Northern Desert was called The Holy Sands by anyone who had a thing for tribal mysticism.
The Northern Desert is Sacrosanct.
The Northern Desert is Sacrosanct.
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

My father was admitted to the ICU for the third time in 2 months on the 8th. He was septic. Sepsis in an 81yo with COPD is pretty much fatal. But, while all my idiot relatives were praying, the internal medicine guy was making phone calls and research. He ordered an IV antifungal that is a "drug of last resort". Three days into that, since it was working, I posted the I'm in but can't participate for a few days post.
The 'shit, lynch me' post was a direct result of my sister calling me and saying "dad has to have heart surgery or he's gonna die". That turned out to be "the antifungal is causing his arythmia medicine to no longer work. So he needs a pacemaker which in my opinion (internist) should have been done long before this." Seeing as how installing a pacemaker is fairly routine, I gave them the go ahead, after a very bizarre conversation with my sister and my dad's preacher that rapidly devolved into short one and two syllable Anglo Saxon words.
The antifungal run is over, the pacemaker is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing, he is out of the ICU, and they are saying he'll be going home tomorrow or Thursday. They have even started him on cardiac rehab. That old bastard is in better shape at 81 than I probably ever was.
I did not want to say any of this, but will now that it looks as if his illness isn't going to affect y'all's game anymore.
So thanks to everyone for giving me the benefit if doubts.
Fener: go fuck yourself.

Hey all.
I think it's unlikely we can successfully lynch tellan or karosis. But I'm not happy with the way fener responded to that little bit of pressure on him. I think that could be a good bet for a lynch. My only concern is that amp could be lying about the vote thing and is trying to bait us into lynching fener.
on the other hand, tennes is running out of time before modkill. Maybe we should lynch him before then for the cf?

Silanah has done this EVERY SINGLE TIME:
- Briefly sum up situation everyone knows already.
- "I'm not happy/they haven't responded well to pressure/case/whatever." response about someone Silanah him/herself did nothing to pressure.
- Goes along with whatever seems most popular/most safe decision at the time.
There's nothing particularly wrong with this tactic per se, but man it annoys me when it is repeated over and over.
End rant.

Here and caught up.
Unable to vote a player the whole game... thats pretty powerful.
vote Fener
he either has someone protecting him, or has some major clout. He also just conveniently shwos up when his name is mentioned for the first time in 3 days... sounds like a classic lurking power role to me.

Right - that's either Fener or Karosis sacrosancting up the Northern Desert.

Me Grimlock say we need new strategy.
I think it's time for us to stop switching targets. Only concerted, repeated pressure on someone, as PS has strongly hinted a couple of posts ago, will get the lynch (eventually) done.

I agree, I think we should lynch Tellan, ergo, my vote.
Let me just say that I have been trying to get you all to put pressure on the same team (or at least those I assume to be on the same team) for days. As far as we know, Tellan is still sitting on Nepeth Empire. It's not currently Sacrosanct, so we should try to lynch him.

I could get down with this. It seems that anyone who gets the slightest pressure is going to put up the sacrosanct. Looks like we need to make them use their worship.

There are some skin/browser/formatting errors.
I don't know what causes it, but it has to do with copy-pasting and quote functions: I had several instances while making the role PMs when I copy/pasted from Chrome to FF and vice versa.

Anyway, with that, I am on my way. Will try to check in from my phone during the next 3 hours. Then, there;s a movie to be seen so no mobile stuff, and after that, severe insomnia excepted, I will be incommunicado until the morning.

Ehm, the faction specific buildings are all intended to be unique.
Ehm, the faction specific buildings are all intended to be unique.
So Karosis is Atif and is LP as long as he keeps an Honor Guard retainer around.
However, if Karosis is just a GoB member and has a one use building, he can be lynched now.
I propose a test. Let's go for a speed lynch and find out. If we can manage it in the next ~4 hours, we can have Day 5 before a Thanksgiving break. Once past that, we should treat it as Day 4 being our last before break.
Vote Karosis
I'm not okay with a speed lynch. The last day went by way too quickly as it is. Plus I just mentioned in a previous post that Karosis is damn near unlynchable probably.
I think Karosis wants us to think like that. I still think Fener is best choice for today.
@Ruse, i'm not paying him anything. If he continues to do it to other people though he will become unlynchable unless people pay him the worship then he can sacrosanct that shit up all over the place!
Until I see my faction allied with GoB, I think Karosis is a good target. If LP due to retainer, he is unlynchable. If due to the GoB specific building, that was a one use. If hiding on tile with sacro (Nepeth empire), it is not sacro yet today.
I think it is a safe bet that Fener is at the northern desert. It's been upgraded a fair bit. Slave camp, bazaar rights, and place of worship. It would be a waste of a lot of effort to leave that tile now.
