Yeah, I came home to those casting notes, and I was already over the moon about Lupita being cast...but Gwendoline Christie as well? SO awesome. Both are great actors.

LOOPER and BRICK writer and director Rian Johnson announced as writer and director of EPISODE VIII and will pen the treatment for Ep IX.

Though I wasn't over the moon about LOOPER...this is a good choice.

The pilot's helmet is slightly different from the Rebellion era helemt, but once the camera has panned out enough for him to walk into the shot it's too hard to tell what the difference is or the insignia on it is.

EDIT with image hoisted from TheForce.net to show how the wings split on this new model of X-Wing.

So, the wings now split lengthwise down the middle of the wing (as opposed to the old design which had four engines and two entire wings that separated top and bottom completely), and you can see the curves of the guns into each portion (front and back) so that it still splits, but with the front going down and back going up and engine staying where it is, still forming an X, just a different type of X. An elegant upgrade to the design really.

Also StarWars.com official twitter confirms that it is indeed an EpVII X-Wing and not some other ship or designation.

Here is a quick video of Mark attending the GotG premiere.

Man, he looks great! Slimmed down a lot, but still looks like a proper, decently healthy 60-something year old man (aside from unkempt hair). Love the beard! Very classical Obi-Wan-ish Jedi.

I can't wait to see them all on screen together again!

It is the Batman music, and the piece was a toy of the batmobile (not a tf sig) that's been painted the Falcon colour and attached to the bottom.
