I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

@Tapper: Can't you stay alive by influencing 2J?

ST

He could, but why would he want to?

Keeps him alive for another turn (most likely), and annoys you? (I'm a proponent of playing on for as long as you can in situations like this).

Anyway, for my turn, I'm going to do another Upgrade.

Put a Plasma Missile over the Hull and a Positron Computer over the Electron Computer on my Cruiser.

ST

It would be trivial for me to just move my other interceptor to 2J, but yes it would annoy me by making me use another disc, I guess.

Stockpiling materials. Ships bunched up at the chokepoint. Researches Advanced Mining... anyone else wonder if Morgy is going for a monolith strategy? :D

I'm sure that points situation will switch round pretty quickly once you take the galactic centre off me, and clear up Tappers territory.

And Morgoth's clearly gearing up for some serious monolith action.

If I take the Galactic Center. If I even can, which I am pretty skeptical of. But I was more listing it to show that other than Tapper and schizo-Federation we are actually pretty close. IH has a lead right now, but it's not dominating.

And yeah, Morgy can probably drop about 5 or 6 monoliths by round 9 and has the space to do it, which would easily vault him above our current point totals. He might choose to dump those resources into orbitals instead, though, in which case he might go for lots of tech VPs.

I thought all his ships were up at 4C? I wouldn't exactly call that a chokepoint...guess he does have the Sega MegaDrives on his Dreads though so he could get them into position pretty quick.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Yeah the game is starting to get really interesting...

Also interesting move on the pre-emptive pass D'rek, I'm guessing your going to use your reactions to manouver your dreadnought/interceptor to face tappers two interceptors?

Could back-fire in a big way if you are attacked though...

EDIT: also since moves seem to be flowing fairly quickly, and I assume Morgoth is going to build orbitals

I'll influence and claim 1B, fill the advanced economy planet, in 1B and the production planet in 3D and regenerate my colony ships again. Leaves me at

Money: 5 /+21
Research: 1/+8
Production: 8/+8

Upkeep: -21? (I can't actually read the number, but I assume it's 21)

Unless morgoth builds some ships, or moves his ships in a threatening manner or something

Haha, the thread is becoming full of posts that really should be tagged *Hint Hint*.

I wish I had the money to actually act on any of them, but the fact of the matter is according to my current calculations it would be fiscally imprudent to try such a risky manouevre. Sorry about that :D.

Haha, I know, but you won't.

Yes, it is 21 (and left of that is 25 and 30)

IH, why are you spreading out your influences so much this round? Did you know you can move two discs in each INF action?

You did/are doing:

(3 colony ships up)
> INF 2D. Colonize 2C and 2E. Regenerate.
(3 colony ships up)
> INF 3D. Colonize 3D and 2D. Regenerate.
(3 colony ships up)
> INF 1B. Colonize 1B and 3D. Regenerate.
(3 colony ships up)

But you could have done it in 2 actions:

(3 colony ships up)
> INF 2D and 3D. Colonize 2C, 3D and 2E. Regenerate.
(2 colony ships up)
> INF 1B. Colonize 2D. Regenerate. Colonize 1B and 3D.
(0 colony ships up)

Right

The Planta build 3 orbitals in 3A, 4B and 4C, placing 2 money and 1 science cube respectively.

Yes. He hasn't done a 3rd action yet.

After STD does his 4th, I will do a Reaction to move my Dreadnaught in Orion into Phi Piscium.

Well it's not like anything he does can really change Morgy's plans much...

Yup! But you and IH could probably submit your 5th actions early if you wanted to.
