IH, STD, D'rek - Where, if at all, do you wish to settle?

But of course! Please use Neutron Bombs on 1C and colonise the money and materials planets in the system.
Cheers,

I didn't know we even got the option. Yes, please use the genocide bombs. But I will only put down an influence disc in the former Orion homeworld and settle it with a materials cube.

Settle the galactic centre. EDIT I've changed my mind Colonise the research and production planet, then put one cube from the research track on the grey planet.
Upkeep should be:
Upkeep: -13
Income: +10
Remove disc in 3H.
Which leaves me at:
Money: 0 /+10
Research: 3/+6
Production: 0/+8
And:
Money: 0 /+8
Research: 9/+6
Production: 8/+6
Upkeep: -2
After the cleanup phase, unless something particularly interesting is on the discovery tile

In that case I'll take the +8 money.
My new upkeep is:
Colonise the research and production planet, then put one cube from the research track on the grey planet.
Upkeep should be:
Upkeep: -13
Income: +10
Bank:+8
Which leaves me at:
Money: 8 /+10
Research: 3/+8
Production: 0/+8
And:
Money: 5 /+8
Research: 11/+8
Production: 8/+6
Upkeep: -3
After the cleanup phase.
Tapper I wouldn't bow out just yet, D'rek is stretched enough at the moment that you building an interceptor, and attacking her with it could change the game, chances are you'd still be eliminated next turn, but if STD attacked D'rek now whilst there is still chance of stopping her, she would be quite overstretched.

Or IH, from the center.
I ended up in another game of Eclipse at the weekly boardgame night. I was hoping for Agricola but can't say I complained having to play Eclipse.
We draw our race sheets at random, so I ended up with the Hegemony this time around, with the Mechanema to my left and a human player to my right. Across from me the Descendants of Draco and The Planta had more room to play.
My luck in this game was absurd, and I completely trashed the others (although the Planta were closer behind than I had anticipated). I didn't have particularly good dice or sections, but every discovery tile gave me just what I needed. I drew a +6 science with my first explore, which i used to research plasma cannons. That made it possible to take an excellent but guarded tire 1 tile the first turn. I took a second tire 1 tile round 2, boxing in my blue neighbour and captured the center r 3.
Planta were spreading along with leisure, but Draco had become a science/econ fiend. Controling six powerfull systems. Alas, their production was weak and they'd focused too much on infrastructure research thinking they were safe for a while I imagine. So in r4 I swooped in with 4 cruisers with improved hul, plasma cannons and a +3 computer from a discovery tile. I took both of Draco's tier 1 systems in one fell swoop, and with advanced econ researched for just that purpose I now had an income of +28.
So far not that lucky, though somewhat advantageous. What happened next was completely absurd. Draco researched plasma missiles, packed 2 dreadnaughts full and attacked. 16 dice in total +4 to hit. As an attempt at defence I built 5 fighters with improved hull. The Planta were making threatening noises with another set of flying plasma launchers and the Mechanema were gearing up for a fight, so I was sure I had overextended and would collapse. Still, I sent a cruiser into another ancient infested Draco system to cripple them with an eye to the long term war.
Being further out, that battle was fought first. I drew the ion missile discovery tile. Which I could immediately place on my fighter schematic. You can imagine how that worked out to my benefit.
After that it was set and I ended up with 54 points. The Planta came second with 43.
