Night is over. No one died.

It is Day 6. 30 hours are left in the day.

9 players are left alive.

Fener, Karosis, Korvalain, Liosan, Meanas, Olar Ethil, Sorrit, Spite, Tellan

5 votes to lynch, 5 to go to night.
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Interesting. That's not at all what I was expecting. If Emurlahn was an assassin, there is no reason why he would suddenly fix on Liosan, and risk being connected with Galain, unless he was convinced that Liosan was also an assassin. But if Liosan is an assassin, why is it him bringing up the FM idea in regards to the assassins?

Something else to think about: I dissmissed Liosan's initial claims about faceless men because it was based on meta-arguments and the use of bullet points, which I thought was not particularly conclusive. But my attention had been caught a few days ago when I noticed more than one person spelling Karosis "Korosis" (which had been driving me nuts) and when I went back to check, it was only D'riss and Mockra who used that spelling. Except that before Mockra's lynch D'riss didn't use that spelling:

Okay, fair enough. To be honest the case on Eloth is the strongest I can discern, but it's every player's job to question everything. The problem here is that not only is there not much to go off of, but there's also little activity in general. Eloth already responded to your case further up, but I also want to hear more from Karosis (or Korbas?) first.

So it looks like Liosan was right. The question is, what do we do about it? It looks like the assassins aren't disappearing when we lynch them, so it feels like lynching them will be a waste of time. In addition, lynching assassins gets us no closer to our VCs, so I think maybe we should leave D'riss and focus on lynching more faction members.

My top picks are Korv and Spite.

Wow I didn't think he would come back an Assassin.

I think Korv is probably an Assassin. I see why you are saying, Tellan, that assassins dont matter, but if they FM jump, killing non-assassins they do. Although they are only trying to kill each other, they still cause damage to us. However it does not seem to be a normal FM, since we aren't really getting dead assassins at night. I'm wondering if it isn't a BP-like power where they specify someone to jump into if they die? Hopefully it does not recharge, because if it doesn't we can leave the assassins alone. They shouldn't go after us since I don't think any faction is close to winning and that is the only way we are a danger to them.

The assassin told the Ouchi general that he would "continue to serve." I'm not sure how to take that. I'm thinking Emurlahn was originally Ouchi, that's why the Ouchi clan did the killing.

I hadn't thought of that. Now I have to go back and look through the lynches/NKs and see if there are any more clues like that.

Ok so unless I missed something

Hosokawa is missing no one.
Ouchi lost Galain and Emurlahn
Amako lost Osseric and Might have lost Mockra (he was in the Amako camp but was hanging out and was apparently killed by the Amako, so...)

Korbas was just a random fountain of acid.

And D'riss was in a random tower.

So...

i am at work and dont have chance to check into it like i should but we have had the same assassin's both die twice right? both were NK'ed first and lynched second which to me suggests that the lynch would still kill them off as thats how the FM works right?

So seeing as Korbas was NK'd, and ended up being an assassin, I'm gonna go back to yesterday's lynch for information, seeing as I think it's high time we start a culture hunt! So one of the things that has my panties in a bunch is this:

Wasn't able to post this weekend, so I'm glad that it was slow. I'd post some opinions now, but I will be waiting for the CF/to see if an extra vote is needed first.

Firstly, he said he'd be around to lay an extra vote if it was needed, but it wasn't him that hammered Galain, it was Meanas.

Secondly, he could have just laid the vote down. If it hadn't been needed, his vote would not have shown on the lynch list. If it was needed, then it would have.

I think Karosis was just trying to make it seem like he would vote Galain if it was necessary, but he didn't actually want to, so he made it seem like Meanas beat him to it, so as to lay the suspicion on Meanas rather than himself. So, I am thinking that Karosis is probably an Ouchi clan member.

Do we know if Captain would be the leader of a team? Gonna have to go look at some past games again, see if I can get some info there.

I am gonna come back to this because I still think it's our best bet to hit another faction member. I thought it three days ago, but none of you will listen to me, cause I guess Osseric has convinced most of you that I am an assassin, but hey, I'll keep pushing. All YOUR choices have been assassins, so I think it's time you guys get your heads out of your asses and try something different.

So, against the above case, Karosis responded with this:

View PostKarosis, on 26 September 2012 - 12:46 AM, said:

For some reason I missed that the name count in lynch scenes ends when there are enough votes, regardless of the number of voters. At the lynch there were twelve hours and forty minutes left in the day. If I was on Galain's team, what does not voting him accomplish? With that much time left and no other cases being considered, there was no chance Galain survived. If anything, the better course for a teammate would have been to drop their vote immediately, knowing there would be an attempted culture hunt after a faction member was lynched.

Of course, anyone knowing for certain that he was on their team would mean that he was a leader. Not sure I buy that from his posting and voting history.

…which, obviously, I think is a load of crap. The lynch only showing the amount it takes to lynch thing is something I learned in my very first non M&P game.

Anyway, aside from that, Karosis has kept an extremely low profile the last couple of days. He pipes in just enough to not get mod-killed, but the content is nearly nil:

Not much time at the moment, so in the interest of gaining info and self preservation:

Vote Osseric

View PostKarosis, on 27 September 2012 - 01:57 PM, said:

Wow, 17 hours left and L-2 (or should we just assume that extra votes are still needed and call it L-3?) already.

As others have said, good catch on the two assassins having the same name. Will give some thought on that.

I am willing to vote Emu bsaed on the even things up comment alone, so before I head off:

Vote Emurlahn

So how's about we try something different today, and vote Karosis for once.

Vote Karosis

I too am tired of hitting assassins. It doesn't help us in eliminating factions. I suspected that Emur would be a waste of time, and I was right, but it was clear that was the direction people wanted to go yesterday. I see Korv more as a link to Osseric than another assassin.

Well, let's look at my record, shall we?

I pushed an Eloth lynch. He was not an assassin.
I pushed a Mockra lynch. He WAS an assassin.
I pushed a Galain lynch. He was NOT an assassin.
I agreed with (can't really say I pushed it) an Osseric lynch. He was NOT an assassin.

After Osseric's lynch, I stepped back and let other people take the lead to see where it got us. Well, it got us two assassin lynches.

Granted I pushed an assassin lynch once, it was at the beginning of the game with very little information on thread. I think that my record speaks for itself. I think it's obvious that I have been trying to root out members of factions. I couldn't care less about the assassins. And that's clearly not the way an assassin should/would be playing.

So in short, you're right, I'm not an assassin, but I think you will have much better results lynching other connections, as I have a good track record of hunting down faction members.

I don't buy this. I don't think Korv and Osseric were distancing. They truly seemed to be going at it. So I don't see the connection.

The thing that keeps getting in my craw is that Korv didn't know about the naming of leaders which implies that he is a leader himself, or he is an assassin. If he is an assassin, why has he been pushing so many faction lynches? That doesn't make sense. I'm thinking that Korv may be a leader, (obviously not of my faction).

What are your thoughts on Meanas as a connection to Galain?

What's the connection? I took a look at Meanas' post the other day, and I didn't really see much that I felt connected him to anyone. I thought he was just playing it low-key, not making any waves. But maybe you saw something I didn't.

I think he's lying low and staying with the pack. I get faction vibe off him and not assassin, and he seemed hesitant to vote Galain.

Awww, he wuvs you!!

I would be willing to vote Meanas, but I think there's a more solid connection with Karosis. The fact that you keep trying to detract from him makes me think that you're connected to Karosis too.
