Best team for personalities I'd say is Bull, Dorian (who I very much would rather was a woman for romancing, he's more interesting than Cassandra and Josephine) and Sera or Varric.

Do play the DLCs, Apt, though I'd say the best one is Jaws of Hakkon.

Welp, 80 hours of gameplay later, and I'm done. Really entertaining game, I enjoyed pretty much all the missions (though as I type this I realise I never finished the Shards mission, what was that all about?) Corypheus wasn't quite as hard as I thought, and that final dragon was also fairly easy to defeat. I enjoyed the way the characters interacted and the various plotlines that went on throughout. I even grew to sort of like Sera, despite how annoying she was, by the end!

The only thing I can't quite work out is what the dickens was going on with Solas at the end there? I get that he was "Dread Wolf" or whatever (which I gather was some form of Elven God from ages past) but I think I must have missed something in game about him because I wasn't sure what was going on between him and Flemeth/Mythal... Dunno what I am going to play next as my mate has my copy of The Last of Us Remastered...

The shards open up the temple in the Forbidden Oasis - each room requires x amount of shards to open and you get +RES bonuses to Spirit, Fire and Ice the further in you get.

In terms of Solas it's explained somewhat in Traveller, but:

Sort of. Have you played Trespasser? I'm a bit loathe to go into more detail if not - The Descent and Jaws of Hakkon aren't story critical but Trespasser is effectively the true ending to DAI and provides the setup for the next game in the series. A lot of questions about Solas get answered in it.

It's pretty good - a bit short if you blast through it (5-6 hours) but enough content and exploration to make it worthwhile. It also patches a lot in the main game so if you did a second playthrough there are now Sigils and Trials in there.

Side note: Did your character ever punch Solas in the face in the main course of the game?

Thx guys about recommending the DLC, havent played it yet, but now i will. Should i play them all, or only JoH and TP?

And i'm with you Apt, on your opinion of this game, it's great. Still in doubt if the Witcher 3 is better, but I would say so. Just because the Witcher is a better open world, has even more interesting missions and better characters. Still, DAI is an amazing game.

I don't know how you go about setting it up but it's a response to a conversation you can have with him in the tower. I think you have to have really low approval with him.

I think it is as you said. As far as I remember, I had this scene once, when I played with a character being in permanent conflict with Solas. There is a fierce quarrel between him and Inquisitor in one of dialoques in this room on the bottom of the tower, and from the possible options to be chosen one is hitting Solas. So there must be rather low approval and, I suppose, potentially other choices during quests (being in contrary to the Solas' beliefs) may also matter.

This topic made me want to go through DAI once again :thumbsup:

Do characters leave you if they disapprove enough? I remember that elven assassins guy in DA:O (Zevran?) who basically switched sides in a fight to be with his old chums so I killed him. Didn't care, hooked up with Leliana anyway, but was somewhat surprised.

Would have thought punching Solas would make him storm off in a huff.

Was actually worried Vivienne might leave cos I could never seem to please her...

I think companions may leave, since it was always like that in DAO and DA2. However, there were certain characters which never leaved (e.g. Morrigan in DAO) and Solas may be one of them. Solas didn't leave during my gameplay, but I'm not sure if I didn't reload the save (wanted only to check the option with punching Solas and his reaction, not saving it as a normal course of actions of the inquisitor).
What is interesting, when I played as a woman mage with strong views on freedom of mages and had a huge disapproval with Viviene, she hated me, but also didn't leave. Maybe there must be some choices to make during quests to make her leave?
Regarding DAO, Zevran also stays with you in the scene you mention and fights against his old companion, if the approval is high enough. I remember I was suprised when discovered that Leliana may stand to fight against you during the quest with secret ashes.

I really like DA series for the interactions with companions, and this possibility to playing many times with different personalities of my character.

A few companions may leave but most will stick with you regardless. AFAIK, the ones who can leave are Sera, Dorian and Cole. Possibly Blackwall as well. Bull can't leave (as he's in a paid contract), Varric, Cass and Solas are mandatory characters who can't be made to leave. Not sure about ol' Viv. Don't think she can leave, from memory.

The gameplay is the same, but as a word of warning, there are performance issues on last-gen. Lots of lag, texture pop, etc.

I think there's one DLC pack but the other two are definitely not, so you'll not see the 'true ending' to the game
