[Macros]

I looked at a picture for the rat, looked at my hand for the hand then didn't really have any idea how to make magicky looking stuff so just drew a flame.

thanks for the advice on stuff to draw, although I really don't know how I'll find a beer bottle anywhere

Wouldn't Oponn count as well? Or are either of the twins actually mages? I can't recall seeing any reference stating whether or not either Twin is... And I didn't see it in the Wiki(a)

I'm not sure I have ever seen any image of the Twins. In my head I see them as the Queen and Jack of Hearts in a standard deck of cards, without the archaic hair and so forth.... In fact, I often picture a card, half Queen and half Jack (King of hearts looks silly most of the time, and is suicidal so yeah......) when I just hear them mentioned, despite them being spoken of in coin form.

Perhaps I'm just insane... LA LA LAAAAAAAAAA.

Oh yes, kudos on the ST painting! I wonder if there's any way to make him seem less substantial? I've got less than zero skill painting on any computer, so I wouldn't have a clue if it's even possible!

@Isolde!: I think conjuring straw horses would be fun, at least for a little while. But soon you'd need to feed em to real horses to quell their numbers and that could get ugly once the straw horses decide to unionize and actually fight back.

15/20 quick sketch of that.
still abysmal but I think I'm getting better at translating from tablet to screen. And I learned not to draw too much in one line, because when I inevitably fuck up, crtl z undoes a lot
I think I'll need to get one of those tutorials for ps, I was going to attempt to colour the bottle but really had no idea how to go about maing that lok anyway shape or formn realistic so I quit at this mostly shaky line drawing.

ugh, save me from poor television and bill necessitated lecturing. My free time has been mauled terribly. I like the look of that bottle macros. I'd drink that beer...if it was a cider. (let the war begin!)

I can try link up some tutorials I read through later tonight, after work. Maybe will get something done on ST and the gang, i'm sure i can get him whispier. I am currently entering a competition on imagineFX. I urge you all to give their forum a look. The stuff in there is brilliant!

Get good brushes! This is my favorite pack, I've added a couple of brushes but honestly it is superb just as it is.

Also, I would encourage you to play around and attempt to achieve the effect you're looking for, you'll probably surprise yourself

Well here's another question.
I only have PhotoShop elements, as it came bundled with my tab.
Is it sufficient or is it massively lacking compared to cs6?
(I had cs5 on mu old laptop but really it was used for the DreamWorks to make silly animated gifs for mafia and the like )

Good question. I use elements at work and find it lacking even for making what should be simple designs for posters and the like, but then I started with cs4 so was probably used to having lots of handy features around. Never really tried using elements for painting though so can't be sure. Either way it would probably be a good place to start and then if you get really into this, you might consider an upgrade
I wait to hear from someone else on this though, wouldnt surprise me if we have an elements user among our resident artists.

i think elements is to CS6 what a bicycle is to a rocket. Sure the bike can get you there but the rocket makes the trip faster, cooler and potentially explosive.

I started out using other programs but its much better to learn CS6 early so you can use and adapt it fluently to your style. Of all the programs i've used CS6 has to be the best and i second isolde on the brush packs, horde them and pile them high!

makes sense to learn one program rather than having to adapt if you hit a glass ceiling.

It looks squashed. will probably need to stretch it out. my computer screen makes it difficult to judge proportions. I made ST smudgier and less definate. I have shan in the right forefront and next to her something we could call edgewalker but I am really iffy on his description. I gave gear a shaggier look and got rid of the floppy ears. he looks somewhat mal-adjusted. He and bent would have much to talk about I think.

The likes of the quick Ben and shadow first draft, how long, roughly ballpark, would you spend on something like those dolmen?

Also, why the + sign, its always confused me

lol the quick ben i'd finish in a few weeks working whenever i felt like it and usually Im working on 5 or so different things at a time (as i am now). If i have a clear vision on a push i can finish it much faster, my record is 3 days I think. Something like shadow usually takes me a lot longer because I'm not sure of anything on the page and spend days working and reworking ideas.

The plus macros is a testament to the 7+? Years it took me to hit 1000 posts. It was a big thing for me back in the day heh.

Also this is a great idea, will post some things when I get home.
@macros- you can make your own brushes too, its pretty simple and have exactly what you need without having to search through 1000's of brushes.
