Hey guys, I'm from the Middle East and was wondering what would be the best way to buy a digital copy of FoD ASAP? Getting the hardcover delivered to me would take a long time and B&N Nook says their digital copy will be released on 18th September. :D.

Any sites selling the digital copy already?

Before I ordered my hardback I looked around on Amazon for a kindle edition but nothing popped up, which suggests they're delaying the e-book release to lessen the impact of piracy.

Sounds to me like the digital rights are owned by Tor since the digital release coincides with the US release. Sounds like you're out of luck for a legite copy until September. If you're willing to pay extra, I suggest paying for the expedited shipping from the UK.

can't you just sign up with a uk address and then purchase it?

I don't own a Kindle mainly because I don't know if the damn thing will allow me to purchase and/or read e-books in it without getting the 'unavailable in your region' thing. I've heard a few conflicting reports about it so I don't really want to take the risk and get raged.

Yeah, I've got a UK shipping address but I was looking to purchase a digital copy quickly so I can start reading it on the PC/laptop/tablet. :D

I'm in India and am reading the book now on my Kindle! Bought it for about $16 on Amazon.com

Instant gratification ftw!

Amazon USA sells with international credit card and address for several countries btw - not sure if your specific country is supported, but it can't hurt to give it a shot...

Would still require me to order a damn Kindle and wait for weeks to have it shipped here. I really wouldn't mind paying double (or triple maybe) to get my hands on a copy right away.

pat5150 or kcf, do you have an extra copy that you'd be willing to let go for a nice amount? (Provided it's shipped in the fastest way possible)

I believe you can read kindle books on other devices. Certainly on android devices and I presume pcs so no reason not to download the ebook if you don't have a kindle. And once downloaded I'm sure there are ways to get amazon books onto other devices.

Download the kindle software for your pc/laptop so that you can read the books on them. You can get this from Amazon.

Or you can download some converting software to convert the .mobi to anything really (I use AVS)

I also have the kindle software on my smart phone so aye... you don't really need a kindle!
