I lied, turns out I won't have time to be thorough after all. These last couple days at work have been killer.

The problem with the emu lynch is that speedlynching her at the end didn't yield much info at all. It was essentially, "oh we might as well lynch someone", and I agree it is better than a no-lynch, but it doesn't tell us much and leaves us with some wifom between tellan and the ruse death. We don't ahve much to work with, and meanwhile a few people can continue to lay low and avoid conflict.

I don't understand how you can call 5 hours of trying to move votes elsewhere a speed lynch. Just because it was done four hours before day timed out due to our (North America) sleep schedules doesn't make it a speed lynch. I, and at least 2 of the other 3, waited until the very last minute before dropping our vote. It's not our fault that there was no other viable lynch target at that point, and so there was nothing else we could do. Conversely, I could say that you weren't around during the 5-6 hours we were trying to move the lynch elsewhere, so that makes you suspect for lying low. I don't think that's true, but the accusation has just about as much merit as accusing us of being scummy for having to put our votes down before going to bed in order to assure a Day 1 lynch.

Re: underlined - I went back and realized that you were one of the people who was sitting around most of the evening, so using you as the subject of my example was a bad choice, but the example still stands.

I was around, but as I was about to go to bed 4 people piled on with 5 hours left and put Emu at L-1. That's the part I didn't like. I ended up choosing not to hammer so that people could still talk, since I figured people would still be around (west coasters? Or people on the east coast who could afford to stay up late). That generated some useful discussion about, iirc, switching to Tellan.

One thing I noticed during a re-skim (again, no time right now to be thorough) is that someone mentioned that day was timing out in 3-4 hours when like 7-8 hours were left. Could this have been intentional misdirection, to try and rush a lynch? That might be worth looking into.

let me try this again, it's been a fun day so far and I have a meeting in about 30 minutes

Did anyone else notice the CF for Emur and Ruse were different? Does this have significance or just a P-S oversight?

Be a man they said, as they failed to comprehend what was being communicated to them and grew angry, was this really a great warrior sent to aid them or an impostor, a killer in disguise? They tore away the disguise and her reflection didn't show who she was inside. Killer! They cried, sure now that her incomprehensible drawings were some kind of code.

Emurlanh (d'rek) is dead, she was town. Thus ends her ever after.

"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy" The duck squawked, when cornered, cut off from his companions.

"Princesses are friends with all the woodland creatures." A voice murmured, "Do they eat meat I wonder? Do they feast upon Thumper stew and Bambi steaks? Maybe their tastes are more refined. Yes, I think they'd enjoy duck."

"Oh, yeah?" The duck quacked, puffing out his chest in a show of defiance and finding it heaver than normal he looked down to find a bolt protruding from his chest.

He quacked his last. That was the end of that duck's tale.

Ruse (Vengeance) is dead, he was town.

This is what I'm talking about - Emurlahn's says "Thus ends her ever after" Maybe we should see if PS wants to comment on this, it just caught my eye

Without my vote Rashan is at L1 though, whereas Emur is at L3. It'd be easier to ensure a lynch on Emur then it would be to try to swing enough people to Rashan, specially with the clock ticking away. I think we're like 4 hours away from end of Day.

Just to pull the comment I assume Telas is talking about re: timeout. It was me who said that, but I definitely said that I thought we were at like 4 hours away. I was mistaken, off by a few hours. That being said, I don't think everyone dropped their votes because of that comment. There was plenty of discussion between that post and timeout, though.

The four votes being talked about a lot (including my own) happened within 45 minutes of my above post.

Kaschan said he was going to bed, then didn't post again until today, so I'm willing to believe that he was.

Rashan votes, admitting the case is weak, but that his own lynch was not an option. Makes sense I guess. I don't know, personally I'm still a little suspect of Rashan - he posts just enough to stay in conversations, so that we can't accuse him of low-posting anymore, and to ensure that he's got a visible opinion. But he still hasn't really made any cases, just tagged along on other people's cases, agreed with Driss that Tellan was a better lynch option. He also mentions that he can bring the Emu train down to L-2, but never does. As far as I can tell, Rashan is the only one who complained about being confused about the time, and used it as an excuse for his vote on Emurlahn.

Sorrit votes only to jump on the train, but is still around for several hours. Could have been confused re: the timeout time, so might have dropped his vote early to ensure that we get a lynch if I had been correct about the timeout. He debates with Driss, eventually removes his vote from Emu and never puts it back. If anything, Sorrit's playing a smooth scum game, no ripples, plays well, is involved in debates. He eventually removed his vote from the person he admitted was an unlikely candidate, but then hammered him in the end.

My vote was the fourth, but I had already noted that I would vote elsewhere if it looked like another train could build. The only person who was interested in my Rashan lynch was Emu, which I can't say surprised me much seeing as it was another viable option. So my only option when I went to bed was Emurlahn, thus, my vote.

Now, after the big four votes, the rest of the day went down like this:

D'riss comes back and gives us shit for piling on the Emu train.
Sorrit removes her vote.
D'riss makes a case against Tellan.
Rashan admits to liking the case, but does not move his vote.

Atrahal gives us shit for piling onto the Emu train. After little action, he votes Emurlahn, but almost immediately changes his vote to Tellan. There were like 5-6 posts between his previous post and his vote on Emu - why didn't he just vote for Tellan in the first place? I find that a little suspect.

Anyway, then Shelly drops a vote on Emu with very little explanation "cuz we need info. it'll pay off later on, and a no-lynch only helps scum." The 'cuz we need info' thing is what bugs me there - it was pretty much agreed that the Emurlahn lynch would net us very little info aside from whether Emu was town or scum, so I don't know what Shelly was implying we would get from that lynch. The rest is simply regurgitated Mafia 101 shit.

Finally, Sorrit hammers Emu with 3ish hours left before timeout. As I said above, she at least gave everyone a chance to argue and vote elsewhere, etc. so I am not super suspicious of this.

@ Sorrit. I need to do a reread to look at player interactions now that we saw that Emur came up as town. I'm also wondering who was the first duck on the scene and whether Venge was the first one to choose that avatar.

There is an all witches meeting so my posting will be sporadic over the next several hours. Your mother will be there and she can drone on and on about the benefits of using apples as receptacles for poisons.,..

thought it was me, but I now believe it was Shelly - what do you think is significant about that?

Oh, and then Atrahal adds a vote just to be sure the hammer is actually a hammer. After having given us shit for voting Emurlahn.

Im still here as well but im at work so I keep half writing something and getting interupted and then forgetting the point I was making....

I'm thinking lisoan isnt scum, but only becuase ruse was voting for him the whole day, and there was hardly any other heat on him, it would of been daft for lio to kill off ruse....I'm not rulling him out completlty, but I think he is a little less likely to be scum right now....

I think this is WIFOM territory, I'm not willing to move anyone toward PI status based on this

Oops. I'm caught up now.

I don't like exactly how the day ended. I think our best bet for scum can be found somewhere in that pile-up a couple hours before the hammer. I plan on getting some thorough reading done once I have some time at work, but it'll be a fairly busy day, I think.

It's possible, but that "pile-on" contained 1/4 of the players, so I'm going to be looking for trends moving forward

The three who originally voted for Emu are:

Tellan, was okay with a Rashan vote, but liked an Emu lynch better. Freaks out about being bunched in with the 'four vote crew' even though she wasn't actually part of those four votes. Her vote was one of the originals. She was around during the four votes thing, though, and did not move her vote, noted she didn't see any reason why she should. Makes a case against Osseric re: scummy behaviour / not being around because of work / etc.

Kalse, joke voted Emu for the language thing, then disappeared until just before the lynch. Notes that D'riss is doing a lot to try to move the train off Emu. When he isn't sure if someone has hammered Emu yet, he encourages someone to add a vote just to be sure. Trying to get someone to hammer a townie = not very townie behaviour. After the lynch, and when Day 2 started, he basically just speculates on why Ruse was NK'd, concludes that it was probably because Ruse had little to no affiliations with people.

Osseric, votes Emu for the language thing too, but then doesn't really contribute anything but the odd RPish post. He does point out that Tellan started talking about timeout about 13 hours before timeout, and how that made him suspicious of Tellan, but that's about it. I wouldn't mind putting my vote here if others are thinking this way. Time for RPing is over.

Hmm, after all that analyzing, I think my favourite for scum suspect right now is Atrahal, for giving us shit for voting Emu, then trying to hammer him after he had already been hammered. And his vote Emu, then vote Tellan within 5 minutes thing as well.

vote Atrahal

Im pretty sure I didn't do much as vanish as go and see batman and then go to bed,
I was on before the lynch because I was up for work and had a slow morning so spent a lot of time on here.

After we got the lynch I asked for someone to re hammer just in case because if we hadn't and emur lived we would be spending all of today discussing how emurs train got derailed when we all thought we had a lynch and emur would probably of just been lynched today, effectively just wasting today

I think atrahal was just making sure we got a lynch. We have all hammered someone we didn't really want to vote for just to get a lynch.
Also he was voting for emur, who was town an then changed his mind, if emur had been found scum I'd be voting for atrahal right now, but he wasn't.

I'm not to impresses with Lios mass of cases right now...

Mass of cases? For explaining his thoughts on people he had suspicions about? You've gotta be kidding me.

I wouldn't really call it a mass of cases, but a review of all the people on the Emu train. I generally agree that there was probably at least one scum on that train, and for me, Atrahal was the most suspect. Why are you speaking for Atrahal, do you guys maybe have offline communications? Do you KNOW he voted for Emu for those reasons because he told you? Anyone who took two minutes to actually read the thread would have known that Sorrit had hammered.

Really? It took me about 30 seconds to look back and count that Emu was L-1 before I went to bed. And we had over an hour before the day ended when you posted that.

Also ifI had offline communications I wouldn't of bothered posting anything on thread

I thought one of you might make a connection from me saying to hammer and then someone doing it, and as it looked like that's what made a case for atrahal i thought It only fair I try to explain the reasoning behind it
