This little gal needs to catch up on all of today's gossip. Let's find out who's the most popular people of the ball. I'll return shortly after I mingle and pick up on the latest gossip.

looking in for a minute
I don't see anything that resembles as case, but it's only Day 1

Well, Rashan is being voted for low posting
Osseric, not sure
Liosan, for making rude pseudo-cases against all things Duck
And Emurlahn for starting the language fest (which I hated)
Edit: I was wrong about Lio, Ruse voted him in what looks like a semi-joke. The Duck thing just must have stuck out.

OK, found D'riss vote for Osseric, looks like some kind of joke vote, first of the game, or some signalling which everybody agrees is nonsense.

There's so many other beautiful girls at this ball, I'm jealous!
"Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest, of them all?"
No, no, no! Next answer, next answer!
Much better! Mirror, that's a good boy.

Eloth = much as I'm enjoying the view, you might want to put some clothes on... Do you really want all of Sorrit's little men seeing you like that?

What is your opinion on any of these votes? Do you think we should be low poster hunting, or looking for something different?

Ok, I'm gonna go to sleep and probably won't wake up until end of day.
I'm gonna vote Tellan because of him Accusing people of signalling twice.(on Ducks and Emur )
And that is not natural .

That candle amuses me.
See how Rashan simply took the time to check-in to ensure she doesn't get modkilled, but then has said nothing since? Everyone else got into the RPing or the argument about languages and such, but Rashan just comes in, makes a couple of snippy comments then checks out. This is the only thing that pinged my scumdar, really, today.
vote Rashan
I admit it's by no means a strong case, but it's at least founded on something other then "OMG YOU'RE SIGNALLING WITH YOUR AVATAR" or "OMG DIFFERENT LANGUAGES MUST MEAN SIGNALLING!!!" Cases on Day 1 signalling are always weak. It's rare for someone to actually signal on Day 1, and even rarer for someone to so overtly signal as to actually be caught on Day 1, so I put no stock in such cases.
Emurlahn, on 25 July 2012 - 08:54 PM, said:
I'm more inclined towards Rashan. Who puts that much effort into an avatar and then barely posts? Low-posting scum, that's who!

Well this annoying. 6 pages of crap talk and I get to come back to find people making a 'case' just because my additions to the spam aren't as high as everyone else's? For fucks sake people, do I really need to say timezones on day 1? I'm not anti RP as such, I was just really tired and there wasn't much going on so I bailed out for the night.
I find Emurlahn's reasoning for following someone's case, bizarre even for day 1. It definitely has a sense of 'I will vote for anyone right now'. Which I suppose is understandable since Emur's got the highest lynch train right now (which I'm not totally against, foreign language posting is annoying, since google translate is not that good) but at the same time, willingness to leap on any other train without regard for the player is concerning for us. This game is about the team as a whole, not the individual players (more or less).
And let's not even get into scum posting habits

I was getting to that, trying to finish up to go home from work.
I don't like any of the cases. As far as the reasoning behind the votes (I guess that's your actual question) - they all seem to be justifications for its own sake more than people being convinced they are right, since its frowned upon to vote for nothing. Day 1 is usually too soon for low poster hunting. There hasn't been a lot of time since sign ups, has everybody even checked in?
There has been some interaction, but mostly screwing around about Disney sex, duck trees, and language shenanigans.

Unfortunately, while I enjoy RP I do think the problem with it is that people can find anything in it to suggest signalling. The suggestions we have around signalling are tenuous and weak, even for day one. I've already given my thoughts on the low poster hunt, I don't think it will give us much info and unless we continue to lynch low posters I don't think it will be much of a warning to other low posters.
I'd like to hear more than role-playing from Sorrit now that teh srs bznis has begun, and I wish Eloth had hung around a bit more to dscuss his views rather than dropping a vote and leaving, This kind of action doesn't help town at all. If Eloth was still around we could at least get some discussion going as we have very little to go off.
I'd also like to see Liosan return and answer Rashan. Having re-read the resoning behind his original vote, I find it a little strange that he tries to connect low posting and "snippy comments" with scummy behaviour this early in the game, especialy when a more likely answer is that low posters early in the game dislike RP.

I found Emur's reaction more odd than Liosan's case. I just saw the case as a fairly standard day 1 weak case, and looking back I think I may have been overly grumpy about it, since the case is easily disproved simply by me posting more, so it's really rather meaningless. I know it's day 1, but Emur's jumping from vote jumping is concerning when combined with his stupid foreign language stuff. I know it's day 1, but that sort of muddling of the thread is concerning if it continues. I'm not sure whether I want to nip it in the bud now by joining his lynch train, or wait and see. It's not striking me town (or at the very least town-helpful) behaviour.

Serious time, is it? I don't see much to single anyone out, yet. I can't say that I really like a low-poster lynch, but if we do decide to go that route, I guess it would be ok if nothing else pops up.
I'm not sure I saw any real signal attempts, and since Grief isn't playing, I don't guess we have to pull out the paragraph de-coder rings, just yet.
I'm looking over Tellan's posts again, because I want to see the context on which he used whatever pinged Eloth's attention. I'll also look at Eloth for low posting, if that's the route we go.
As for Rashan, I would say to you that you can't blame anyone for calling you out. You responded, and there you have it. The case itself is sort of valid for a day 1, at least before you responded.
I'd suggest that one scum is probably in the bottom 3 posters, and the other is possibly in the top 3.

I personally don't have a problem with the foreign language stuff, I am usually amused by what comes out of google translate

In saying that, I also believe that players will play their own way regardless of whether they are scum or town. I know I tend to be a lower poster, no matter what my role. Searching for scum based purely on how much we expect them to post is not going to get us anywhere.

I get that, but at the same time there was very little going on when I went to sleep. Meh, whatever. I don't think it'll go much further
I think Eloth was referring to this sort of thing, seems fairly innocuous?

Not a lot of controversy today. I would be willing to vote Emurlahn for offering the opportunity for signaling (I know you will call it RP, I would argue if it is RP its lame and boring). Or the three ducks, just on the off chance they are signaling eachother.
I'm pretty sure Kaschan was the original duck, so there's that.
These choices are shit, but I haven't found anything better so far.

Rashan, I will accept your excuse for now...
remove vote
I will be keeping an eye on the thread until I go to bed, so I will vote wherever it seems likely to get a lynch.
Atrahal, it wasn't necessarily because Rashan was a low poster that I was looking at him as scummy. It was the fact that he was around while there was a veritable posting storm, but only said a couple of useless things, then disappeared. Just enough to put himself on the list of posters, so he doesn't get modkilled, but not enough to make any waves, at all, whatsoever. I don't know, it seems like a good way to hide that you're scum. Regardless, you're right, there's not a terribly strong case there, and I admitted it myself. Truth be told though, I felt it was a better case than what people have on Emurlahn.
