In all my experience with Chinese, people rarely write out characters vertically anymore. People who communicate with Chinese through the web, in particular, will write it out left to right.
But in any case it's more an annoyance than something I'd want to lynch for.
On the other hand, I have no qualms about lynching low posters. If we let scum lurk then they will win by lurking. See last game for an example.

Tell that to my wizened language teacher! He used to smack my butt thirty times everytime he caught me tilting my head to read it in a more left-to-right fashion...
Go to baidu.cn. It's china's google. Notice that all the chinese is written left to write. The only time I remember seeing chinese written vertically is on signs.
