Yeah that was great, am now about 3/4 through Death Masks - really hurtling through now, the pace just keeps getting better! Our hero is currently captive of Nicodemus and his medusa daughter/slightly worrying kiss-and-possibly-more-partner...

Introducing Michael was probably what sold me on the series. Before him I didn't care about any side characters.

While i had started to like Murphy even then, the intro of Michael in bk 3 with the VW race to stop the ghost and the dialogue between him and Harry
("Christ, could this get any worse?"
"I've asked you not to swear!"
"Sorry.... Fuck, could this get any worse?")

...is probably the moment i started to love this series.

...Anyways, oh my what an ending to book three! Intense! Have started book 4 (will consider a pause once I reach the end of it) and Harry has just entered the Undertown with Billy the Werewolf. It definitely keeps me wanting to keep reading!
...

The ending to book four ("I DON'T BELIEVE IN FAERIES!" followed by "For the Pizza Lord.... CHARGE!!!!") is the moment the series moved from 'great' to 'i FRIKKIN LOVE THESE BOOKS".

Do yourself a favour... when it gets to the end, plan to close the door, turn off the phone and read the last 70 or so pages without interruption.

Yeah, DEATH MASKS just rules. As one of my two fave in the whole series (the other being PROVEN GUILTY), the introduction of something as evil and yet cool as the Order Of the Blackened Denarius just had that plot singing from page one...and I think the ONLY other intro / idea in the series to rival it was Ivy.

Abyss is right, shut the door and read that last 70 pages in one go.

Damn. I wants me some COLD DAYS now!

DEATH MASKS is my second fave after DEAD BEAT. I'm such a sucker for a big finish and Butcher does those so very very well.
And yeah, COLD DAYS can't get here soon enough.

I just re-read it and don't remember being disappointed with anything. Could you spoiler it and be specific?

Incidentally, Disc One, you should really have spoiled that anyways - that the

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I think that happened to me with every Dresden book from 3 on. Dresdencrack is a hell of a drug.

Having read Vignettes, which was a delightful little dialogue, I now start Blood Rites - not feeling the need to stop! :p

I will caution you, in case you haven't already figured this out. Do not take Dresden books into the bathroom with you. If you do you will realize that 45 minutes have passed, your ass fell asleep and you forgot to wipe.

Wait a minute, there's a graphic novel AND a short story collection AND two more novels plus the 10 before? I really really have to get out of this cave and become vegan.
Disclaimer: The Toblakai in my nick is in no way Karsa but the spawn of a Thelomen Toblakai and the Otataral Dragon.
Disclaimer to the disclaimer: Thinks about his signature and wonders how on earth would a Toblakai and the Otataral Dragon...create offspring?

...three graphic novels if you count the adaptations of Storm Front and Fool Moon.

Am on White Night. Man I love these books so much & the more I read the more I appreciate the style of storytelling & the great humour weaved throughout. Just read the line "dammit Harry, ignore your penis before it gets you killed" and splurted tea everywhere!

Favourite bits: Mouse; the whole Lasciel story, I just know that is going to come to an explosive head at some point; anything with Michael in...

I could go on but I am missing out on reading time!
